I have a couple other cars and trucks that benefited greatly by adding a throttle controller, so I decided to try one on the '09 TL. Let me tell you, it made a pretty significant difference on my car. I have the 3.5L base model (no AWD) and live in Colorado, where we do get some negative effects of altitude. I have used a Sprint Commander in the past on some Toyota 4Runners, and they work great too, but wanted to try something different here. I also got extremely lucky and caught a misprint on the price (instead of $219, it was listed at $129 at Beat-Sonic). It is easy to install, as it just plugs into the throttle at the top of the pedal, has 4 levels of tune and also comes with a bluetooth module that you can do some tweaking with your phone. I have not used the phone feature yet, but just using the Shiftpower, it has awakened the engine and allows for immediate response off the line, faster response in all driving situations and a just better feel to the car.
And here I thought this was a forum where we could share things that work well on our cars. We could share some modifications that others had not tried in order to inform the group. Maybe even be a forum where people who drove the same car would like to discuss things that we like and things we can do to our cars.
@Jpilot Thanks for your comments on this 3rd party mod. I have marked it with 'thanks' so I can come back to it because it seems like a good mod. I prefer comments in forums from people that have modded their cars vs Amazon reviews because not all reviews on Amazon are 'legitimate'.
I now other Acura owners have used this one as well.
