Software update via USB possible ?

I came across this website https://usb.acura.com/ which seems to be legit but its not too clear if the 4G TL is updateable via usb. I cant even find a software update option in the menu anywhere. Is it hiding in the service menu ?
Has anyone tried updating the software via usb ? or any other method ?
I have ordered the NAV map update but I suppose that will only update the maps and nothing else.

Yes, the NAV update only updates the map base. AFAIK there is nothing else that can be updated, via USB or otherwise. The last year these cars were made was 2014. What do you think would be updatable on cars that old? These car don't run "software".

if I understand your question - it would be whatever software that acura website is offering to update. Update could be for several things - interface, audio, display, wireless, issues fixed, improvements..

Acura does not issue software updates unless they ABSOLUTELY need to, and even then it's like pulling teeth. For example, a lot of honda/acura's had a clock issue and the fix is to buy a $99 dollar navi upgrade dvd to fix the programming issue. Both my 04 TL and 2007 MDX have this issue and I'm not paying $200 for just the clock.

Another example, 2G TLX owners have been begging for wireless carplay like the accord got (via software update) but acura left the 2G TLX owners in the dark.

Acura did make a transmission update that can only be applied via the OBDII port, but that was due to them having to replace a bunch of torque converters under warranty that they didn't want to.

The only updates you'll really see for the 4G TL is "gracenote" which is supposed to find the name of songs that you are playing in the car that don't have titles, or the maps for the navi. Other than that, acura has done zilch and don't expect any updates.
