Replacement Grill

Looking for anyone who has had experience with the E & G Classics Grille replacements. What do you think of their product? Which would you think goes best on a Palladium 2009 TL? The Heavy Chrome or Black Ice?

Heavy Chrome Mesh

Black Ice

Thanks, Jon

.. put on your fire suit.. This is not a popular mod on here.

IMO, if you like it, do it... you are the one that walks up to it in the parking lots, driveways, etc.

I think it looks better in black mesh but that depends on the car that it is installed on.

I appreciate that and can handle the hits. : Other suggestions for my grill are appreciated. The current one I have is corroding so I need to replace it with something.

Sadly, the only other company that makes a replacement grille (that I know of) has stopped making them. The other option is to get your painted the same color as the body or another color.

I thought about that but I do not particularly care for that look. I can get a replacement form Acura I guess. I was thinking the E & G Chrome might look good if I purchased the chrome wheels I am looking at. I appreciate your feedback and will wait to see what suggestions if any I receive on the wheels/tires.

Thanks, Jon

I was just looking at the RonJon grilles and really like them. Anyone have any feedback on those?

! but honestly, it is not a appealing look to a lot of people. imo you might as well just have gotten a Cadillac if you want that look. RonJon makes a aftermarket grille or explore the forum and see what others have

I hear you easy. I like my stock grill or I would not have purchased the car. This is just the first time any of my TL's have needed a grille replacement. Figured I might as well look at the alternatives, check out what other's thought and then decide what I want. After joining this forum I actually think I prefer the RonJon to the stock grille. Appreciate the comments.

I actually prefer the stock satin-like finish and look of the grille. Acura also has a midnight chrome-look finish available as an option maybe you can look into some OEM part websites. Of the aftermarket products Ronjon's grille looks best because it doesn't have a cheap mesh look but I have seen people paint their stock grille which is unique and doesn't look too bad either.

RonJon, or paint it. I got Nexson to do my grille - being shipped to me as we speak. Pics once it's installed.

I did look at RJ grilles before I decided to paint - they look SO good. Seems to be a quality product too, VERY popular in this forum

There's a rumor going around saying that RonJon is no longer producing TL grills but might have a few left. It would be a good idea to call him if you are interested and get the straight story.
I think the Acura Sports grill in midnight chrome looks the best of any option, check www.bernardiparts.com. The price is reasonable especially if you can do the installation. Instructions are available on the website.

From what I gather, RJ is having trouble getting quality and quantity from his contractors. He said he is getting out to of the body kit business as well.

I expect part of the issue is also tied the lack of orders but that is just a guess on my part.

If your going for chrome, then I would definitely get the Midnight Chrome OEM grille and the rear chrome trim as well from Acura and you'll be good to go.

I happen to really like the look of the E&G. I know most on here do not but the chrome I think would match the other chrome on your TL. I have watched the video on installation and there is some cutting that I am not willing to do. Just my 2cents.

^ The grille itself is not the issue for me. I think that it doesn't work with the 4G TL. This grille looks good on the caddy IMHO

That we can't fault them.

It seems like producing aftermarket parts for the 4G TL is not a lucrative business. That's why there are so few aftermarket parts for the 4G.

Just witness how slow and how long it takes to produce a body kit and a exhaust system for the 4G, then we know how enthusiastic the aftermarket shops are. They would rather devote the time and initial cost in producing 2G and 3G parts which sell in much bigger volume.

I do understand. I see that effect when we try group buys for most everything for our cars. There just aren't that many 4Gs out there.. sadly

It's your car, you make the payments, your entitled to do whatever you want. Just in my opnion a painted grille would restore the classyness to the car. The E and G grille looks sort of..."cheap" Your car doesn't come across as cheap to me

Hmm, its not TOO bad, but as others have said, I think it would look a lot nicer had you painted the OEM. What I did was paint the beak and used the chrome trim from the sport grille. Not everyone cup of tea but I get a LOT of compliments wherever I go.
