Radioactive car ??

Today, I drive across the border between Quebec and Vermont like I've done many many times before.

The only difference is that it was the first time with my TL.
Before it was always with my old Accord.

The US Border Agent asks me if I've had any kind of medical procedure recently that involved radiation and such because when I drove up to him, I "triggered" something ?!?!

So they pull be aside and run a bunch of tests on myself and on the car before giving me the all clear.

This is very bizarre. I'm going back across next Saturday. I can't wait to see if it will happen again. It had me wondering if perhaps it's the car that is somehow giving off some kind of "radiation"... Maybe the previous owner was a plutonium smuggler or something ?

Seriously though... anyone else had this happen to them before ?

Interesting, keep up posted next week. You know Fukashima in Japan is still leaking radiation into Pacific ocean. They say that Fukashima plume has either reached, or will be reaching California but you are in Quebec so still far away.

Your's is a 2012 TL, and so the car was assembled with many parts and electronics imported from Japan, right after the Japanese earthquake and nuclear plant meltdowns.

Back in 2011, the 2012 TL production was delayed due to some electronic components, that had to be manufactured in Japan, were late because of plant closures due to extension flooding. These components may have exposed to radioactive elements from the nuclear plant meltdowns.

So this may explain why your car has abnormally high Geiger counts.
