Anyone know how to remove the chrome pieces of the door trim? I am thinking about having it painted.

 

Have you considered using vinyl instead? I know there are a few other members that went that route.

 

^i agree with UCF.
properly painting that chrome piece wont ever happen. it's even worse than grilles. if not PROPERLY prepped, paint wont adhere to pillars at all. pitting, peeling, etc.

it'll be easier to wrap them.
and to answer your question, the door panel has to come off.

I'd recommend 3M 1080 film - it breathes with makes installation a hell of a lot easier and is very forgiving. Picked up 30 sq/ft of it for about $90 CAD shipped, came in a firm cardboard roll.

 

just dont get some funky as colors

 

Sorry to hijack but regarding these chrome door trims... mine is misaligned between the front and rear doors. I noticed alot of cars are also like this. Does anyone know how to adjust the alignment so that the chrome strips line up?

 

if they line up the car has prob been wrecked lol, i think they come misaligned from the factory
