Question for guys with 4G 6MT

I searched before i posted this but have you noticed the hill start assist feature on the car? Meaning when you stop on a hill the brakes holds the car for a couple seconds allowing you to move your foot from brake to gas without rolling back. just posting because i haven't seen this mentioned
(if it was then i just used up my "am a new guy" post)

not gonna lie, when i first got this car. i hated this feature cause i was used to taking off on a hill on my old cars. so the first week or so i ended up overrevving as if i was learning to drive once again. got used to it now but i wished there was a button to shut it off as i can do without it

Yeah, it annoyed the hell out of me too for the first few weeks, but I've also gotten used to it.

ha--I just noticed this feature today. Pretty cool ! I didn't realize it still holds you even after you step on the accelerator. Is that accurate ? If so, that is kind of annoying.

Sorry for going over an old thread hope i don't get put in the corner for this.
HSA is a good safety feature but am not a fan of it, i thought something was wrong with the car at first.

Our TLs have a higher threshold for HSA to activate than my wife's '13 Accord 6MT. The Accord's HSA is always on, no matter the grade. My TL seems to require a higher grade to activate - I seem to recall it's 6%.

yeah, i think it's a great feature.... cant say that I need it... but it's cool to see the car "sticking" when I'm about to take off. I've never noticed a downside to it. But yeah, it's a pretty steep grade it needs to be on... quite often I still roll back... in fact I initially thought my HSA was broken... because it didn't kick in for a few months, but it was simply because I wasn't stopped on too many steep slopes.

I've seen Hill Start Assist kick in while on my driveway since it's got somewhat of a steep slope. Personally, I think HSA is a nice feature since I don't have to rev up to pull into the garage in the event I come to a stop on the driveway.

Interesting. I was at a stop sign the other day and it kicked in but it wasn't steep at all. Just a mild hill. Maybe 2012-14 it comes on a less steep point.

It engages on inclines greater than 8 degrees for forward gears, and the equivalent decline for reverse

To echo what everyone has already stated. HSA is a pretty cool feature, it took me a few times to get use to it, but I now see the value in it.

It IS a cool feature. When your on a hill and someone is riding you really close its useful. Reason 724 as to why I love this car.

I'm getting used to it....slowly....but yeah for those times the idiot.....err I mean other driver.....is on your ass when stopped on a hill, is has value. Learning to see the tires of the car in front of you when stopped adds a whole lot more value though IMO
