Question Is it Normal That AC does not feel cold enought

Hi everyone, I bought my new TL tech pkg. about a week ago and coming from a Passat 2.0T, In my Passat if I set on 69 it made the interior real cool but in TL I have to set on 64-65 to get to the same feeling, any comments?

A great temp setting, but probably not accurate in the VeeDub. Read up on how the Tech package manages climate in the TL - pretty amazing. You might want to adjust your comfort zone accordingly.

All I can say is that we were in Phoenix a couple weeks ago at 118 degrees F and it was nice and cool in the wife's TL with the temps set to 72.

Shouldn't need to go clear to 64-65, unless you're taking about at startup beofre the car is cooled down.

If anything mine is too cool. On an 85-90 degree day if I set my temp at 70 it gets and stays very cool in the car. The climate control system in this car is amazing.

I've noticed that the A/C doesn't really work too well until you're going consistently more than 30mph. After that it's pretty darn strong. Not quite as powerful as the A/C in the Lexus ES350, but good. It helps if you push the recirculate button on the bottom right of the center stack.

Yes the AC is just working fine but I think by comparing to my old Passsat or my wife's Murano you have to set it in lower Temp to get the same results.

I guess individual preferences vary, but I am quite confident that if I set the AC on 64 or 65 in my TL it would very quickly become unbearably cold for me, unless it was to cool the car down after it had been sitting out in the sun for several hours.

One question. Do you have the climate control set on auto?

Good point... I always use "Auto" setting and have found that anything cooler than 72 for a longer period is too cool for me (and I typically like it cool).

At startup, I typically put it on 70, then bump it "up" to 72 or 73 after the engine's warmed up.

I have been keeping the temp set at 65 and it's quite cold. I used to keep my 02 TL at 64 and it was not nearly as cold as the 09.

I may ask dealer to check the AC for any leak in first servce, I just want to make sure that it's working right.

Hey cool! I came from Passat 2.0T too.

I noticed similar thing. In my Passat I used to set it at 72 in summer and winter and it works well. Now in the TL, I usually have to set it at 70 on or 68 or so on a hot day(90s) to feel cool. Bought it in late June so not had chance to experience winter yet.

Just curious, do you use the "auto" setting, or manual?

I never use the auto funtion because I can't the stand the auto setting makes the fan blow on max whenever you get into a car that has been toasting under the sun. So I set the temperature and adjust my own fan speed.
