Smile New TL Today

Hi all, just traded my 07 RDX for an 09 TL SHAWD Tech. I am really happy so far....only 25 miles so far though. It seems real easy to get the hang of all of the tech options, and I really like the handling....but the sound system is the Best!!!!

Thanks everyone, I am going to get some pics on as soon as I figure out the system...I think the TL was easier to learn! Anyone know how many CD's fit on the hard drive?

The 09 TL uses a proprietary compression format that's supposed to allow (roughly) 2,500 songs to be stored to the HDD. Songs can only be ripped from CDs, not from DVD-As or from USB-attached devices like thumb drives, iPods or other MP3 players.

Yes the Salesman and the Service Manager went over it with me. Lots of stuff to go over though. I really liked the easy download of my blackberry address book to the car's phone book. So far on the hard drive I have put on 10 CD's and it says I have 11.4 g left...lots of room! Rusty

On a side note, before buying the 4G TL, I test drove the BMW 330XI, the Nissan Maxima, the Infinity G37 AWD, Lexus I250. I liked the b-mer but the staff at the store were real jerks and that bugged me. Came down to the G37 vs the TL and technology won me over...I think ride, power, comfort and price were close.

that's what it came down to for me, the G37 felt smaller on the inside, also, my legs felt cramped.

Nope, it wasn't a typo! The 330xi is BMW's all-wheel-drive model, and it is "xi", not "ix" for this specific model.

Talking about HDD in the new cars now, I'm wondering if they actually using an old fashion like the 2.5" (most laptop) or 1.5" (old gen iPod) with disc spin inside or the new 1.5" hard disk with stack of memories (new gen iPod, Apple notebooks and those little Sony notebooks) ?

Well, I didn't mean that.
330xi out in 2006 so he kinda mixed between grand new 2009 TL, G37 with an old 2006 bimmer?

Nobody calls a Hard Drive a HDD, they only call it HDD because this is how it's written on their info sheet
and yes, I've been in computer field since I was in diapers... now on network security side but I still get to see a computer on daily basis

There are special hard drives for automative use that are hardened against vibration and temperture. Toshiba makes most of them so it's probably one of these: http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Pat...HardDiskDrives
