if ron puts a lip on that wheel it will make the centers look small due to design.

it won't look right. rims with lips need free flowing spokes which should look as long as possible.

anyways i think its too complicated. maybe i'm wrong.

Sorry, no lips, I just don't think it'll work best on AWD or FWD, with the high offsets and required caliper clearance. On a Ford or Chevy, or rwd for that matter, you can get away with it, but not these cars. I submitted the 7 spoke split already, now its a waiting game for the 2D and 3D from my engineers at the factory.

You made the lip work quite well with the Devotions....

They look nice, but if I could provide any inspiration, i think these are some the sickest wheels out: trafficstar STR. made by Riverside Japan

take a look at the GS towards the bottom of this thread.. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!

Keep it 7 spoke, but add a lip and fake rivets. I like the devotion wheels, but they are pricy because of the 3-piece design. something like this:

I like the previous design better (they are a tad bit more agressive). This one reminds me of the Inspyres.

In the previous design, Thin and lengthen the spokes a bit and they will look a bit like the Work Varianzas.

thats what i was thinking.. but i do like the wheels, i think they will flow well with the 4g. a lip is always good but this wheel looks nice without too, maybe like the legends you can make both versions? just a though.

Like I said, no lips, we have a phylosophy to follow, that means that we don't do fake rivets or trendy characteristics. I like to make a wheel that will last the test of time, provide caliper clearance and have an OEM kinda feel to it, with new finishes to freshen it up every season. We did the Legend Type II and the DT3 and they don't sell nearly as well as the flush face wheels.

Here's what I did to further narrow down the field, and believe me, if this wheel dosn't make you say "I need this wheel", the 3D and real thing will do the trick:

I can't make up my mind

I think I like D (the last one) the best, A (I guess on this page) second, and D third. I like the straight cut in the center. Great job, if only I had the money.

B in 19" will be a hit for this car. it's stylish and flows with the acura lines and has similar characteristics as the stock wheels. D is nice, but it's a little on the sportier side. i'm really feeling B.

Between the two pics above, D looks more clean/sporty and aggressive, where B seems to be more vip/lux. Based off what I see, my vote is for D.

but I would still like to see a 3D model of both to make a final decision!

I like "B" better. Again, i like the slightly aggressive look a bit better. It those cuts on the spokes act like the ones on the inspyres between the spokes, it would look real nice when they catch the sun.

Ron,

Thanks for looking to put out some new wheels. I was just getting into the market for a new set. I'd rather go your route since they are custom made for the TL.

18/19 would bring you in more business from first gen TSX and
third gen TL.

I know a TSX guy or two that would love these rims in 18.

I noticed on what looks like your side profile two designs. I love the look of a rim with a flat face that cuts deep back at the lug nuts. Could you do a combination of the two with a flat face and a deep center. Thats what I like about the 04-06 TL rims.

Right now, its gonna be the Liquid Graphite and either Frosted Silver or Reflective Silver. Reflective silver is a fin ish that looks like polished aluminum, and Frosted silver is like a flatter silver finish. I think I'm going to do the 18" and 19" now, already I've gotten more requests for the 18" than the 20". 20" will come out before mid 2009.
