Hi
Just bought a certified 2010 Acura TL ( Base) for 28.5K + tax having 21K miles, is that a good price
Secondly spent 500 bucks in putting on a paint protection called Resist On ( or something like that) having 7 yr warranty against any exterior paint and interior finish and covers exterior paint from damage from tree saps, water spots etc and any interior damage from any tea/ coffee spills etc
Has anyone used that product ?
Dealer tells me that the paint is protected for 7 yrs and i dont even have to wax the car , find it very hard to believe
Thanks

Actually it's called resist all , the reason I bought is that it warranties against all stuff like water spots, tree saps and my old Honda had so much of it and it went through the clear coat although I park my cars in garage now, maybe it was not needed. Would like to know whether anyone bought it and could I apply regular Wax on it .
Secondly the product was on a demo on a new car which had half it's hood applied with this product and other half was regular paint and touching it I could see the difference and the part of the hood with product looked better and had a glass like finish which sold me

Congrats on your purchase.
Since you've already spent the money on the Resist On, it is best not to question whether it works or not, because now it no longer makes any difference.
It is normal practice to find out if a protection product works or not, before spending the money on it.

Congratulation on your new car! What color is it?
Honestly, I think the price is kinda high... Your drive out price is around 30k for a 2010. You can easily get a 2012 for 36k drive out.
But well I'm sure you'll love the TL!

Its a 2010 base model and in-service date of May-10 and certified thru Acura having 21K miles.
this is why its' important to come on here and ask us BEFORE you buy anything.. the price is definitely high. i just went to truecar.com and you can get a brand new 2012 base TL for $32,866.. so for $4K more you could have gotten a brand new TL with a bunch of improvements (design, 6 spd auto, etc). either way whats done is done, just take this as a lesson learned and ask before you buy next time. enjoy your new car

I had checked the invoice price for new TL's and its 34K, you are telling me you can get a brand new 2012 TL 1 K below invoice .... has anyone got such deal , if so its a great one
I do agree that i should have checked here before buying ... anyways
the way i bought my car (really the best way IMO) is go to truecar.com (or any other of these types of websites). you build your car the way you want it; and it shows you the lowest price your surrounding dealerships will accept. no negotiations, no BS. you walk in, walk out. either way you didnt get a horrible deal and you got a great car, so just enjoy
I wouldn't trust true car much nowadays since they don't subtract the manufacturer to dealer incentives in the prices they show now. They were really good last year when I bought mine, but now have toned it down a bit maybe because of drawing wrath from dealers for their honest/factual pricing scheme.
Take the 2012 TL 6MT as an example. Truecar shows a target price of $40,868 in my area and if I'm going by that, I'll lose out on the $1,250 offered by Honda/Acura to dealers. Invoice on the 6MT car with destination is $40,693, but I subtract the $1,250 dealer incentive which would leave me at $39,443. I'm not offering the dealer any more than $39,500 plus TTL since they're making money on the car with holdbacks anyway (2% of base MSRP, approx. $796 on the 6MT)...

oh ya and another good thing about it is that everything was dealt with via email. i had 3 dealerships emailing me for my business. so instead of walking into a dealership and spending hours negotiating etc, i had everything ready and agreed to a price before i set forth into a dealership.

In fact one dealer i met was all too happy to bring up the truecar price on his computer and claiming he is matching it. I finally did a deal about $2K below that, and $3K below invoice. The Consumer Reports Bottom Line Price was closer to the price I paid.

The dealer adds a bunch of money to the car as it is "certified", which in essence they do not really do anything to them as they are pretty new vehicles anyway. I think Boss2K should have bought a non-certified one and saved 2K off the price and not bought the Resist Off and saved another $500. But it is done, so enjoy the car!
So, now, let's see some pics, Boss.
