New owner.

Purchased a WDP with Tech and 18" gunmetal wheels. Love it! The car is a beauty! I will probably have the front beak painted white. I like the ronjon, but it is a bit pricey. Gonna de-badge it tomorrow and windows tinted soon.

Is the window tint a big deal? Do I need to worry about where I take it or is it pretty straight forward? Not a lot of options in town.

Welcome and Congrats! I would look into ceramic tint especially since you have Tech. Huper Optik is what I have and its the best tint Ive ever had on a car.

^ Why do most people do things to their cars, including cosmetic? Cause they want to

The strange thing about the beak is that once you get behind the wheel and start driving, it matters less. I too had plans to paint or do something to the grille, but now feeling that I would rather put the money towards the TEIN setup....

There are no local shops that have this, but I contacted Huper Optik and they said there is a place about an hour away that does have their products. I think it is probably worth the drive.

Congrats RealGone. Post up some pics. There's a few nice paint options for the nose. Let us know what you decide.

This is a thoroughly discussed topic. If you're an aesthetic guy, you'll consider painting it. If you're a performance guy, it's not as much of an issue.

Congrats on your new ride. Did you went ahead and purchase from Acura of Bellevue or did you get a better deal in Seattle?

Yes, its absolutely worth the drive. Do a search on Huper Optik to see the benefits as opposed to other tints available (dyed and metallic)

I did not feel like any other dealership was offering me anything better. I contacted several salesman and ended up buying the car with Alan at Acura of Bellevue. They were the only dealership with a FWD TECH and 18" wheels. I think they could have come down a little, like several hundred, but less than a thousand. I also figured to get the same deal, I would have to sell my car for $19,000, so I just decided the stress was not worth the thousand and bought the car. Now I don't have to work the numbers daily, I can just go to the garage and look at the gorgeous car I have parked in there.

Well, the nearest shop that installs huper optik is about 72 miles away. Not too far and I would do it, but they gave me a price quote today, $550. The guy also said that a problem with some Acura's is that they do no have felt on the inside of the windows and if that is true with my car, he will have to charge $10 per door to install the tint, otherwise it would scratch the film and that is not warrantied.

I am seriously thinking I will pass. I would really like it, but that is a little steep when I can regular tint for a little over $200 locally.

What a bummer.

Realgone, they may be expensive but they seem to know what they are doing: the scratch problem can really get very ugly: I have seen some examples on recent Ford products, such as the Taurus, where it got so bad that it was almost impossible to see anything at night, forcing the owner to remove the tint.
