Need new windshield

Own a 2013 FWD with 75,000 miles. I have 2 cracks and need to replace the windshield. What have you paid to replace it with new glass? The OEM glass has a nice tinted section on the top 6 inches which I enjoy. Thank you I’m advance for sharing.

I've noticed it too and it's quite nice. But if an after market windshield is significantly cheaper then you could easily just add a strip of tint film for cheap.

When replacing a new windshield do not cheap out, it actually does more than just block flying rocks coming at you at high speeds, it also provides structural support which is nice in case you're ever involved in a rollover.

Generally stay away from places like Safelite and get an OEM brand like Pilkington, PPG, AP Tech, etc. I *think* the 4G TL uses Pilkington so if you were to get one it would be the exact same windshield we currently have but without the Acura logo saving you a few hundred dollars. It should come with the tinted strip but if not I can't imagine it costing too much to have a shop add the strip. Either way, don't cheap out on the windshield.

I agree with all of this. I had to replace the windshield on my 3G twice due to flying rocks. Get the OEM glass. The replacements had the tinted strip

I had the windshield replaced recently on my 2013 Acura TL Tech Package. The windshield tint on some aftermarket windshields don't extend as long as the OEM but once you had it for awhile you barely notice. I paid $281 for the install and the guy came out to me to install it. I don't notice any difference regarding wind noise and it seems to be clearer than my OEM windshield.

Are the aftermarket windshields acoustic as well? I believe the OEM one is.

I'm not sure but my OEM was just as noisy as the aftermarket one I have now.

Might have been a sucker play at the time, but I paid for OEM replacement coverage on my TL via insurance company. Had the windscreen replaced, after some hassle, with OEM glass. Was quoted $800 plus for OEM because they didn't honor my coverage at first.

Upon replacement, they installed my wiper incorrectly. Scraped up the new window. So, I had it replaced again, this time under warranty.

I love the OEM glass. Too bad oem coverage is only available for ten years after manufacture date. Sigh.
