ILX Windshield Replacement

Hi All,

I'm new here. Great forum.

I need to replace the windshield of my 2015 ILX. The dealership gave a quote for +$1000. They said they need to replace the trims or moldings. The aftermarket windshield quote was for $350.

An aftermarket windshield would work as good as an original?

Thanks

I don't think there's anything really special about the OEM windshield. But check if your insurance covers this. My insurance has a $100 deductible to replace the windshield.

OEM is usually the way to go if the price is right and there is not something special about the aftermarket that they said addresses an issue, I know mechanical this is mostly the case but for glass not 100%

ex: aftermarket could be thinner letting in more wind noise, but if price out weights the balance then... you know
