Low washer fluid?

so, I ran out of washer fluid for the first time, and no dummy light anywhere saying its low or out. I'm thinking wtf, something's broken. According to the manual, only the canadian TL's get a sensor - LOL - they think we don't use the stuff in the states?

we use a lot more because we have headlight washers that go off the first time you spray the windshield when the lights are on. and that can't be turned off.

however, i am surprised that there's no sensor for something as simple as that.... even my 06 ody has it!

That's not just surprising...it's shocking. For a vehicle like the TL to not have a washer light is ludicrous. Mine's Canadian, so I don't have an issue, but I really can't imagine the argument for omitting it from the US version.

would you rather have a washer indicator (CAN model) or have to wipe down the front of your car everytime you decide that your windshield needs a good spray? you decide..

i can live without washer fluid indicator.. but cannot stand to wash my car everytime that shit sprays out..

The headlight washers only operate if the headlights are on.

My workaround this is to quickly turn the headlights off for like a second and simulatenously spray the windshield.

Having a canadian TL I have no other option to avoid getting the front of the car soaked with windshield fluid.

well, i don't have headlight washers, and I would really love an indicator when fluid is getting low. I use it a lot, and it really sucked to be out the other day with no indication. Considering all the dummy lights and MID notices I am floored that they didn't include a washer fluid sensor. First car I've ever had that didn't have one

Your comment makes it sound like the engineers at Acura had to choose between the two; like they couldn't figure out how to do an indicator without the headlight wash.

I don't think that was the case, though.

The 2G TL also came with the windshield fluid sensor and dash warning light, and once again, only for Canadian models.

Unbelievable. I usually don't let mine get low enough that a light would come on but can't fathom its omission. Even my daughter's Kia has one. What was Acura thinking?

i look at it on the bright side... it makes you get under the hood of your car more often then you should just to check

Well, Acura keeps sending me surveys and so far my only complaint has been lack of folding rear seat, so now I've got another gripe - going on 7 months with the car and almost 6K miles - if nothing else bugs me I consider it a great acquisition

My thoughts exactly. I always check all the fluids every oil change. Can't say I've ever ran completely out of wiper fluid.

The washer fluid low warning light is a good feature on Canadian models, but the warning light and the warning tone comes on every 3-4 minutes which drives me nuts.
