I would like to change it to a whiter color, should I use BULB or LED?
Using LED going to cause a problem ? (burning out the ecu)

 

use leds they are brighter and will produce the color youre looking for and no one has had any problems with the ecu and leds (including myself). the bulb size is 168.

I got LEDs for my license plate lights 6000k white from v LEDs.

 

funny, I was just thinking of doing this today! I wonder if any of the local auto part stores would have the LED replacement bulbs.

They do but not the bright ones or SMD ones - just the regular ones.

 

Where did you buy yours and what did you buy? I just drove home my new 2012 SH-AWD 6MT and I'd love to do the same mod.

Anyone having any problems with the vled bulbs for the license plate? I'm on my third set since November.

 

Too soon to tell, I just put them in about a month ago. Pseudomaniac posts that he has had his for over a year.

I've been having a problem too. The left one works great but the right one is dim. I don't know what to do about it. They were working fine when I first put them in.

 

I've had mine for about 11 months now... no issues...

 

I put mine in the week I purchased my car (June 28 this year) and have not had any problems, knock on wood.... I was hesitant at first because I had experienced so many 168 LEDs that would burn out in the past. Fingers crossed!

 

I have these on my mdx and I also put them on my mom's TL. They have been in for over a year with no issues.
