Just bought mine
I will admit that I was one of those early haters of the 4G TL. I still would like the beak colour changed to the body colour. I think I can live with it because to me the rest of the car is great, especially the interior. Anyway In take posession of my 2010 TL SH-AWD Black on Black on Tuesday. I shopped essentially the TL and Lexus ES350, ( two totally different cars ).
Anyway, I tested the vehicle with my wife and the dealer has a road perfectly to show the attributes of the the handling of this vehicle (read twisty roads). The car fly's and holds those corners, (lord please have mercy on me, to control the speeding and retain my drivers licence). I initially bought the Gregio Grey, but then saw the black and changed my mind.
When i was making the deal, the salesman offered the demo we drove for quite a bit less, but with the way the salesperson told us to drive it, (read we drove the crap out of it), I can only assume what the other 8000 miles were driven like. My wife and I said, I don't think so.
Anyway, I love this interior. The seats are comfy, with great stitching. I can hardly wait and will join the rest of you in your fun.

Congratulations! I saw a black SH-AWD on the freeway last week - wow, that thing had a ton of road presence! It was very much the center of attention!!! Beautiful!!!
If you do not mind me asking, did you get a lot of discount, in addition to the $4,500 rebate that is offered in the GTA? I am just asking because though I am from the States, I may be moving to Canada and I am trying to figure out whether to get the TL SH-AWD in the States or in Canada. Thanks!

I cannot comment on price as I leased mine. They paid the last 2 months of my MDX lease, gave me a .2% lease rate and I am paying $705 per month including taxes, which we get raped @ 13%, which was much better than what other dealers were offering. I know if you pay cash you can get the discount you suggested.

Just bought mine as well! I sold my 04 TL with 69000 km for $18000. Then looked at the usual suspects: G37XS, Lexus IS350, BMW 328 and Mercedes C350 4 matic. Nothing came close to the value per $. After all the shopping, got a TL-SH AWD with TECH for $40800 plus $900 for remote starter. All said and done, just shy of $50000 taxes and everything. Cash price of course. About $10000 less then I would have to pay for nearest competitor. White withe amber. And yes, I used to hate it as weel, when it came out. Oh well...
I have had my SH-AWD Tech for 2 weeks now. It's Black with the Grey (taupe) interior. Have the body side molding, mud guards and pinstripes. Looks real sharp. I originally had the TL Tech but exchanged it for the bigger engine. I can feel the difference when I drive. Duval Acura here in North Fl really did a great job for me and beat all other prices.
Isn't that a very good price for Canada?

The acura.ca web price might not be including everything. (gas tax? enviromental fee, registration, etching $399 and other BS)
MSRP price is about $48500.
Cash incentive is -$4500
Then I negotiated -$3200
Plus a remote starter +$900
The result is $CDN 49980
There is no financing available for TL, they can arrange something with the bank at about %5. Nuts. And then you loose the cash incentive. ( I think)
Same with lease. Rate is OK, 1.9% but then you loose the cash incentive, so it is better to finance with your own bank, get a credit line @ prime + %0.5 = %3 At this interest rate, the cash incentive is more the the interest you pay over 4 years,(with some downpayment) so it is like financing at %0.
Don't forget, cash discount is before taxes, so it is like saving $5085. This is exactly what made Acura so attarctive vs others.

Not a huge difference from the US then...

You know, if I get one in the States now, with the same level of equipment, and assuming that I can get the price down to just over $38000 (including the remote starter), then the final price will be around USD$42000, which is about CAD$44000 at the current exchange rate. Therefore, the price difference is about CAD$5000 only. Considering that you guys have to pay PST and GST in ON, and that you have slightly more equipment (headlight washers), the real pricing difference is not that big at all.
I guess in Alberta, one would not be paying PST at all, so then it's just 5% GST. So assuming that one could get the same cash incentive and negotiate as well as you did, the pricing difference between US and Alberta will be minimal???
Isn't that a really good price for Canada? I guess after you have added on the freight (close to $1900), PST and GST, it will come out to be just under $5000. In fact, that is about the same as what is listed on the Acura.ca website for cash price. So, if you choose to finance the car instead, then the price will be much higher than this???
I now have my car and would like to advise on the following. First of all the fit and finish of the interior is excellent, in fact the best I have ever had in any Acura I have owned. The interior is amzing and fits me like a glove. Love the power lumbar. The stereo is simply fantastic especially XM radio. The tech package is a must. I found the car very smooth and the engine just plain goes like stink and boy does it ever handle around the corners. One wonders how Acura sells any RL's (I know they don't sell many), with the price point on the TL and all of the features. I love the look of the black and the keyless system. I know I am in the infatuation stage of this vehicle, but it will definately be a pleasure to drive for several years. One thing though and I know this is picky, but with the level of equipment in this car, why does it not have rain sensing wipers, as I had with my MDX that I just unloaded. I know some people don't like them but I do, and yes it rained on my new baby today.
As a point of reference, my Son's Mazda 3 has these wipers. Anyway a minor gripe. I am enjoying my car.
