so are the relays on there to prevent flickering? Or is it recommended to help with prolonging life of car and preventing over heating of wires and what not? If i do a relay what amp fuse should i use?

I dont want to start an argument here but if I was you B, I'd stay away from HID kits in the fog lights, just upgrade to PIAA xtreme white bulbs to match your HIDs and call it a day .

Been using HID kits for fogs for a while now and have not had any issues with them. With the TL, never had to install relays.

Most important use of a relay is to make sure there's enough voltage to start up the HIDs. The TLs don't have that issue.

Agree JnC -- Hoen Endurance yellow if you use your fog for their intended purposes... or PIAA bulbs if you want a OEM HID match.

HID kits in are NOT intended for reflector based housings. That being said if you want to be different and do a full retrofit within your fog light housings go for it...

This is exactly what I think I am going to do. Where is the best place to order the Piaa's?

Just because you guys are not having an issue with the kit doesnt mean that there isnt an issue with the whole idea of putting an HID kit in a reflector/projector set up intended for use with halogen bulbs. Try driving in front of your car for a few miles at night with the HID kit turned on in the fogs. The glare will give you an idea of the issue at hand. This is why I didnt not want to start a whole discussion about this topic as there are 100s of pages on HIDplanet discussing kits and their issues.

Also, using HID kit in a set up intended for halogen bulbs will, over time, cause the chrome on the reflectors to burn right off due to heat and angle of light output.

Here are a few examples of the glare that I speak of.

I have HIDs on my fogs. They are great. I got them in 4300 to match the headlights and they do very well. I did a lot of research on this matter and found that stealth auto has a good HID kit for the TL, at least the 2012. I installed it with no relays.

Here is the artcle with pictures that I posted when I installed the kit.

Thanks for your tip.

Which PIAA bulbs do you recommend (color type)?

Do you have a source you recommend?

Thanks.
