Honda Interface Module (HIM for short)

I recently bought the honda interface module off e-bay. I believe I paid around $170 or so. The main reason I got it is so that I could do a complete diagnostics on my TL and maybe reset items on the MID (i.e. fluid changes, timing belt/water pump service for the maintenance minder, etc).

I'd like to know if there are any other cool things you could do with the HIM. For example, so far I have discovered I could do the following:

1. Reset MID messages (maintenance minder)
2. Run complete systems diagnostics (including ABS which is something you can't do with a basic OBD2 reader).
3. Turn headlights on and off (kind of cool to do this from your laptop although quite useless really).
4. Roll the windows up and down (just as useless lol)

Perhaps there are some other settings you could play with. For example, I'd love to turn off the annoying beep that you get if you haven't buckled up.

I have never heard of it before, sounds pretty cool to be able to examine the backend of the cars computer though. Keep us posted as you discover additional features!

Why the hell would you want to turn that off? Do you not wear a seatbelt often?

Driving into work just before I could get in the office I need to open a gate. I keep my key pass in my wallet so I need to unbuckle to get the wallet out of my pocket. For the 10 second drive on the private driveway that beep just irritates the crap out of me. lol

Have you downloaded the service manual that artunique provided to us?
Tons of useful info in there. One part I read instructed how to hook up the reader and investigate transmission shifting on a test drive.
Keep us posted.

i think the car does all that without the interface module.. i mean.. that HIM thing is only good for clearing codes.. the car itself i believe can clear codes if the issue code has been corrected.

It might be the same but I am not sure. This is what I got (except I bought mine from Ebay):

Thanks, I will look into this. I downloaded the manual but haven't looked into that topic yet.
