I searched the forums and found this. So yes you can use HID fogs without melting.

Another post where you can get them for 60 bucks

I'm pretty sure our fog's have glass fronts, not plastic. So it should be OK. It's been done on the RL and RDX without problems.

I ordered a set from the link in my post above... got the discount, had the product in 2 days and installed. Easy MOD to install. If you do plan to get them let me know and I can help you with the easy way to get to the bulbs (IMHO).

HEHE, YA ready? Here we go.. Grab ya a 10MM socket (long) if you got it, a ratchet, a flat head medium to small, a phillips.

What you want to do is turn the wheels all the way to one side. Start with the tire turned in. This gives you the room to get in the wheel well. Pop the pushpins (little black plastic connectors) in the wheelwell starting at the bottom and go up till you see the phillips head screw. You may have to lay down and look up till you get the screw. Take the screw out. the side of the front bumper should flex a little now. Move to the location under the fog light and take out the other pushpin connectors. I used a flat head to popem out a little and pulled em out the rest of the way with my fingers. Then take off 4 bolts holding the plastic deflecter. If you have it all loose the plastic up where the deflector was should move around. Carefully pry that piece out, you may have to slide the bumper out a little to allow the black plastic to flex. Once you get the plastic out of the way your half way done. You have to take the connector off the fog light first before you pull the bulb. Pull the bulb and use the connector to pop into the new adapter they gave you. make sure the clips on the adapter line up to the fatter stub on the connector housing. Its pretty self explanatory. Hook up the line comming out of the ballast to your new bulb. Kick on the fog lights to make sure it comes on. If it didnt rotate the connector on the ballast to the adapter that connects the OEM plug. Test the light. If it works slide the bulb up in the fog light housing. I placed my ballast up on top of air scoop intake and stuck it / zip tied it. I used two black (bigger) zip ties i had. Put the car back together. Spin the wheels the other way to do the other side.

Let me know how you make out.

I remove the bumper when I install my fog HID. In that case you can find a good spot to mount your ballast. Rather take time to do it right. Plus the bumper removal on 4G TL is easy. When the bumper out, you will find a good spot for your ballast.

No, I don't have pics.
But I mounted it on the metal bar in front of bumper. this will act as my heat sink.

Yes, I keep changing it. Right now I have 6000K low and 5000K fog and they still don't match (5000K for both definitely won't work). If we have clear lens then 5000K for both low and fog should match, I guess.

I would say 5000K for low and 3000K for fog would work. In this case, you don't care about matching them.

I don't know but to me it seems kinda odd to go through all the trouble to replace the yellow stock fog lights with yellow fog HID lights.

Ok, Got the order from hidextra. It's 5000K D2S. Now I have one Apexcone 6000K (one year old bulb) on one side and HIDExtra 5000K on the other side and they looks the same (brightness and color).
The Apexcone 5000K does show the different (pure white, not blue, and brighter).
Unfortunately, I have only one Apexcone 5000K bulb left (so probably need to get a pair sometime)

So my quick review is HIDextra sells it cheaper, but 5000K is not on par with Apexcone 5000K. It is equivalent to 6000K Apexcone.
