Help with local TL in town
Help with local TL in town
Started thinking of getting into a 4g TL. I really want the sh-awd but it seems the local dealers always have the fwd.
I found a 2010, white w/ tech package in town. The dealership is a Merc/BMW/Chevy dealer all in one. So I thought this to be interesting...
BMW of Florence is listing for $28,8...

Five Star Chevy of Florence is listing for $32,2...

I don't know much about TL's, but if you check out the pictures, the keytag on the set of keys say's TL 3.7. The wheels, for all I know (and may be wrong) are the SH-AWD wheels. I was curious if there are any other things I can look for to know if its the awd or fwd. The vin pings back as the fwd model. It does come with the factory body kit which is nice.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

I think it is a FWD model. Look at the exhaust tips (picture 8). The AWD ones are split (Quad) tips like these: http://www.jbcarpages.com/acura/tl/2.../picture39.php
It also doesn't have the AWD emblem underneath the "TL" on the trunk.

This is a FWD model that has the optional 18" wheels (same as standard SH-AWD wheels) that was offered by Acura in 2010. Also, if you click on the free Carfax link, it clearly shows the engine size (3.5L) based off the VIN. In addition to the quad tips on the exhaust, if you look at the front bumper, it's the FWD bumper and not the SH-AWD bumper.
Also, the tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paws.... have them change it out for some better tires...

I picked up an Certified 09 TL FWD w/ Tech for few Gs less and only had 26K miles.
As far as "performance aspect" and "take off".... I don't think you'll see much of a difference unless you bring in the handling aspect of it. I've driven both the FWD and AWD. You should try both before dropping $ on it. Hell, neither of it might be what you're looking for.
G37 maybe? it's more of a performance sedan.

I picked up my 2011 CPO TL SH-AWD Tech for $33,000 with 12,500 miles on it, as a reference point.
Purchased from Columbia Acura in Cincinnati, OH.
Those prices seem a bit high by comparison given the mileage.
