Goodbye Acura family
After owning a 2009 and a 2012 TL. I have decided to purchase a lexus es350. On the black market site i have wheels and tires for sale. Look for post from NCBlue. This site has been very helpful through the years. Thanks all!

Congrats. That seems like a bit of a change in terms of driving dynamics/style. Any reason you went with the ES 350 over the TL?

To each his own, but if I were going to leave Acura, (which I'm not), I would not choose an ES350. I would likely go with an Audi. I don't really view the ES350 as a direct competitor to the TL because their driving dynamics are so vastly different. But good luck to you and hope you enjoy your new car.

Very nice car. I'm thinking about the 300h myself. I'll have decided by this time next year as the best prices are right around xmas when they are desperate to get anything in before the end of the year for sales.

Congrats! I've got the ES on my short list also. As I'm getting older comfort is becoming more a factor than performance and the ES certainly fits that bill. I do hope that Acura is taking notice of all the defections lately. Holding back info on the TLX is not going to help their cause.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Lexus. Its like a sofa on wheels. I just noticed a new ES at lunch today, looked nice, including the handicap plates, hehe
I don't blame anyone for bailing on Acura. The RLX is a joke, and the lack of TLX info is infuriating. I think I've finally decided the next ride will be an Audi SQ5. I don't think you can get a better equipped, sportier SUV at that price. As much as I love the A6 I need the utility more

There have been quite a few recently....and I don't blame them one bit. Acura's saving grace is that with me, I never buy a car until the spring (never buy a car in the fall/winter) so by then, I'll know what the TLX will look like....so it will have to be good

Some leave due to no TLX, but even the TLX may not help. Acura has taken its eye off the ball and is all words lately. Advance is a term they need to stop using or back it up. I remember how cool my 04 TL was, how the tech while minimal was ahead of the pack, the the features in the RL. Now I look at what you can get in a Mazda or Kia and Acura is playing catchup. I look at the MMI in my A6 and other tech it has and it blows away most of what is in the RLX. I look at how hard it it to use the navi in Acura, and they have made it harder by locking out things while in motion. I love Acura and would like to come back, but I think the current gen Acura sedans are a miss, and I will be pessimistic here as well about the TLX that it will be a step forward, but still behind the pack.

I think the TLX will be a baby RLX, i'm quiet sure, look at evolution of MDX also. So i think a lot of people will be dissapointed by the look itself. May be in term of motorisation something special (hybrid ??)

6G TLX-S
A trend has developed that the longer Acura withholds technical information about the upcoming TLX, the more Acura owners and potential buyers will move on to buy other competitor brands.

It has to make you wonder what they are doing. Every other maker is leaking or pre-announcing cars to keep people interested. Acura has not said a word on the TLX. They either are still tweaking it, or afraid of the bad pre-release press or just don't have a clue how to compete today. They will literally be last to the party in the segment and by not at least teasing are surely loosing long term sales. The odds that I come back are slim. They need to think about it, I was happy buying a new TL every year or 2, settled on the polarizing 4G AWD which I got sick of the crap color and beak and defected to Infiniti. I would have stayed with them, but they dragged their ass on the 14 M37 so I started shopping and never would have dreamed of going German, but after a few rides in the A6 I am hooked. Is my A6 perfect, no far from it. But I do love the execution in many areas, particularly the drive train and the MMI. I ued to think Acura's Navi and head unit was cool, it is so out dated (even to a degree in the RLX) compared to what Audi has done. Google Maps, and the ability to just speak a full address and the Nav get it right is leaps better that the enter one piece at a time. And once you try Audi Connect and get real time nav via the MMI it is hard to imagine going back. Sure you can get the same from your smart phone, but to me that is smaller screen and more distracted than just hitting a button and the car doing it all.

Nope, I get a warning that comes up that I then hit OK and on it goes. Also I have 3 ways to input info, knob selecting letters/numbers, the touchpad where I just write the letters/numbers one at a time (very awesome feature) and finally natural language, I just say 123 main street mytown mystate. Voice works so well and so fast I rarely reach for any other input for navi.
Audi's MMI and Audi Connect are really amazing features. I can go online and populate up to 50 addresses in my Audi account and retrieve them from the car. I can also use Google Send to Car. I use this all the time now, I set up an appointment at work or home form computer then just put the into in my Audi Account and when int he car go to navi and tell it to pull up my Audi Connect destinations.

I hate that with the gf's 14 RDX they still do the stupid OK when the car turns on and then lock out so much while driving. My Infiniti and Audi boot right into system, no need to give me a legal warning every time I start the car.

Advanced
I went from an 09 CBP SH-AWD to a 12 BWP SH-AWD Advance, now to my recently purchased 13 Lexus GS 350.
The tech and interior on the GS350 absolutely blow away the dated interior and tech of the current TL.
Maybe I'll be back if they knock it out of the park with the TLX, but my hopes are not high.

Congratulation on your new car and like you I finally decided to leave Acura family. I sold my 2005 Acura TL after 8 and half years and bought a Toyota Avalon Hybrid limited with tech. Unfortunately I got tired of waiting for Acura to come up with a decent sedan and decided to go Toyota way.
