It looks like the TL won VS 535i in the poll by a very narrow margin. It looks like TL is very good bank for the buck

That said, its been nothing like the posts in a BMW/Audi thread or the old Ford/Chevy threads. The current place for foaming at the mouth & gross misinformation replies seems to be YouTube.
Nicely said. Just because I drive an Acura doesn't mean I can't appreciate other vehicles. I live in California but I sure do like Hawaii, Vermont, New Hampshire and Texas.

I love the looks of the Audi, the luxury and the quiet ride of the Lexus, the general drive of the BMW.

Haha interesting thread... but C'mon guys you are only kidding yourselves if you say tl sh is faster than a 535i... here is a video of a 535 spanking an audi s5.. are you going to tell me now that your tl can beat an s5?

Nothing with an N54/55 can be beat in the price range.. especially not after a $600 tune.

Not to mention the looks..

I'd take the Acura TL for no other reason than a proven track record of impeccable reliability. I'm not sure exactly the same can be said of any European import. Coming from a Range Rover that was powered by the BMW M-line motor you find in their 7-Series, I can tell you it had it's own set of persistent electrical and cooling gremlins. Again not sure the same accusations can be levelled against Honda/Acura products. To each their own, but I guess I'm at a point in life where I have matured and what I seek in my cars are now multi-dimensional and not just one-dimensional as in aesthetics/brand. Just a thought...

As long as someone else repaired it, I would take the BMW without question. If Acura messes up the new TLX (which I think they will) I heading to the W anyway.

Sorry man, but check the road tests. SH-AWD (6MT) takes the 535 (6MT).

I know looks are subjective and many don't like the current TL styling, but there's nothing particuarly attractive to me about the current 535 (or the previous gen for that matter).

Yeah the debate goes on but if you look at the Drag Times real life listings all but 2 of the 535's are quicker than any SH-AWD's listed. To be really outrageous stick a $500 juice box on the new 328 4 cylinder & its 1 second, 8 mph faster than a sh-awd.

To me that does not mean all that much what I find interesting is that on a TL forum with 98 votes counted the TL only leads by 6 votes.

I chose TL over the 535. But I would take a 550 M package.

Doesn't really make sense.. tuned 535.. save money in purchase price as well as fuel costs over 550

I understand what you getting at but I'm not trying to stray too far off from the thread. I would buy a 550 as a daily and keep it that way. Most likely not tune it either, I would buy an M and play with that if I wanted a to get into tuning. Not to take away from the N5X engines with the JB4 tunes, etc, etc you get the picture.

For the sake of saving costs though I agree with you. ^Above is preference.

Newbie with only 2 posts on an old thread. I smell a troll. Stop feeding them. And buy what you like, not what others like. But best bang for the buck is the TL SH-AWD. Hands down.
