Crashed my TL....totaled.
I don't post much...but I just want to say man this car is hard...and front collision dissipation works...I crash front first against a ford ranger both coming in different directions and both were total...the guy in the ranger couldn't even get out of his pick up...his hands were bloody but other than that he was all right thank God. ..we were going like 50mph..and my stop cold...definitely the worst crash I had...nothing happen to me...I want to put photos but i don't know how. ...and sorry in advance for my English. ..
Thanks to Potmilkz for helping me with the pic's. ...he will post the pic's soon. ..btw im gonna buy another one. ...but used because in here a new one sh- awd tech cost $60,000... the base fwd starts a $l 53, 000....its crazy buying new cars here they add( arbitrios) another example it was the bmw e46 m3 I had before..in the states it was around $55, 000 and ind here 90, 000....so unfair

Thanks to all....thank god this car is very strong. ..that's why im gonna buy another one..plus I love the car...I didn't even had a change to push the brakes because I didn't see the pick up ranger..when the police saw the pick up he told me ...wow now I know why Acura is not cheap..that pick up looks like it was hit by a truck....the weird thing is I think I didn't have the seat belt on.....I always use it ...but not that day for some reason...
Impressive. Kriz I know overseas car titles mean a lot less than they do here, but if its any concern to you be aware that used car dealers are fixing hurricane Sandy flood damaged cars and shipping them overseas for 3-5x what they paid for the car + what it cost to get it fixed. From what I've seen there are plenty of cars that people filed claims for and weren't really flooded (cut a wire to the battery, throw a bucket or two in the cabin), those cars I'd say are fine to buy but the ones that actually were flooded I'd be weary about. Tale tell signs of severe flooding are rust underneath trunk lining, around the bottom of the seat hinges or un-uniform staining on the interior leather.

TL SH-AWD is 4000+ lbs of rolling thunder... essentially an SUV condensed into a sedan package. (3975lbs curb weight + fuel weight + passenger weight). Car is a beast!
I just googled Ford Ranger curb weight and I'm seeing like 3179 lbs max. Assuming you both had similar velocities, you probably had residual momentum after impact... you just plowed straight through him.
You can thank the law of conservation of energy and the excellent crumple zone of your TL for your safety my friend!

Hey...that's the weird thing JT4...I wasn't sore at all......but the only thing that happen to me was 2 scratches under my hand from the impact of the airbag...but to be honest I don't remember if I had my seat belt I think I didn't but dont remember. ...
If you see my car closely is on the other side of the street looking the other way (look at the yellow lines) the pick up bend all his chassis. .he even had to jump through the window..and end up against a wall from a bar near by..

You're welcome
By the way...I just check ....and their told me there taking those car's from The hurricane Sandy out of the country. ...mostly Europe. ..they dont want those cars to be sold in the United States so we are safe...remember Puerto Rico is not a country we are a state free and associated the country is US...
But anyway I be AWARE HEART TL...
I wasn't sure about Puerto Rico specifically but I do know they're aggressively marketing/selling those cars in the Dominican Reupublic, throughout the Caribbean and in Europe, particularly Eastern Europe.
