Car got vandalized!!!
Someone decided to be stupid and shattered my driver door window by prying with screwdriver. The chrome molding is bent and my window sealant has a flathead size hole. Alarm never sounded because there is no shock or glass sensor in our alarm system. The alarm only activates when hood, trunk, doors are opened. Nothing damaged inside or stolen. Just window is busted. Cost $290 for window replace and $250 for the rest of the repairs.
Does anyone know if I can add a glass sensor on our factory system? And does it work if someone shatters window by prying and not throwing spark plug at it.

you can add a shock sensor or glass sensor to any car easily. Hook the wires up to the hood latch so the sensors will be active with the car off. When the car moves too much or glass is broken, it will trick the factory alarm into believing the hood has been opened and sound the alarm.

Do you have more information on how this works, and how to do the install?

My last BMW 545i had a motion detector next to the dome light...which would activate once the car was locked from the outside......it was pretty cool and better than a shock sensor......even an insect flying around the inside of the car would set off the alarm (the motion detector could be disabled of course on the key fob). I don't see why there wouldn't be an aftermarket motion detector somewhere for auto use.
