Bellanova White Pearl paint questions
Hello,
My front bumper has 3 screws in it from the previous owner having a front license plate. In Quebec, front license plates are not required and I would like to cover the holes with white plugs. Because the ones from bumperplugs are so expensive and come in pairs (I need 3), I figured I would make some myself using plastic automotive fasteners and BWP touch up paint.
I therefore bought the touch up paint and to my surprise, I received not one but 2 little bottles. A base coat and a top coat (see picture).
How should I go about doing this right ?
Does this mean I have to do primer, base coast, top coat and clear coat ?
If so, how many coats of each type of paints ? Sanding requires after each coat ?
Obviously, I would like the plugs to blend in as much as possible.
Thanks !

I just got a paint pen from the dealership when I picked mine last year (paint on one end and clear coat on the other side), not two stage system like yours. However, this paint doesn't match my Bellanova white and aren't too happy. Let me know how yours blends in and I might have to search more for better paint.

also let coats dry atleast 1 hours inbetween in normal temperatures.. if too cold, it will take longer to dry.. wait full 24 hours before wetsand and buff.

matches great, take your time, two THIN coats of base, make sure to let dry completely in-between, then same on top coats, I blend out my top coat a bit farther and then buff off the excess.

I may not have understood bit I thought you said your car was pearl white? Pearl coat systems are not two stage systems, but three stages. Base coat , pearl coat , finally clear coat. Heck if you truly want to get technical they could actually in some occasions they could be considered more depending on what type of repair you are attempting. Anyways, sanding and buffing the heads of fasteners is going to be virtually impossible! Touch paint almost never matches especially on vehicles that aren't solid colors because there are too many variables involved. I. E. Number of coats , the pressure at which those coats were sprayed as well as how many coats were applied. Pearls as well asset allies tend to clump together when brushed this giving an altered appearance to the factory color nosy yet how many coats of base , or pearl you apply your attempt at an exact color match with touch will almost always be futile at best. Hope this info shed a little light on what you were trying to accomplish .
