Back to Acura!
Back to Acura!
Good morning all,
After a 3 years I finally made my way back to Acura. I just traded in my 2010 Camaro 2SS for a 2012 TL advance. It was'nt easy but the chevy was not reliable at all. 68K of problem after problem. I used to own a 2005 TL base model and LOVED that car and had always missed that car. I'm back and could'nt be happier.

Thanks guys. I will miss grinding through the gears and driving a standard tranny, but I think I will be very happy with this car. I drive so much that I need a car with more comforts, and I've always had a thing for Acura's. I will miss my camaro no doubt, but with two kids (8) and (3), its worth having the safer family car.

When I got my '12 Tech AWD a few months ago it was between that and that exact Camaro, which seems odd but I was either going full speed or a little of both. I still want that Camaro but perhaps as a second car down the road.
Congrats! I love my TL.

However in the past few years here is a short list of problems:
-paint chips, paint peeling off ground effect kit
-replaced the FPCM twice
-Clutch pedal sticking to the floor on many occasions, this was most frequent when launching the car.
-A/C leak-
- 2 months later new compressor, evap, and drier
- spoiler came off partially while driving - fixed my self
-trunk latch replaced
-had third gear completely replaced because of a grinding and bad syncro.
That's all I can think of, with 68k, I just wanted a reliable car, the Honda's don't do anything for me. I've always loved Acura, so I came back.
They look amazing IMO, nice ride, but I think its better served as a weekend toy, and not a daily driver. ILEs are real nice cars. They had the car for about 2 weeks, and honestly chevy customer service blows. When I had clutch issues they accused me of abuse right off the bat! I told them one I dont abuse my car, I babied that thing, and second it comes with a launch control feature....

THat's the thing I dont understand.
He was racing the motherfucking thing!!!

I dont know if my friend told them that he was; he certainly made it to sound like he told them the truth.
"like why would you build a race car if it cant stand up to racing at the track!?"
was his argument if i remember correctly.
he had the clutch replaced as well.
all under warranty.
and its a brand new '14 SS.
it was probably in the shop more than he had owned it.

Totally agree, your going to accuse me of abuse when it has a launch control feature?Granted I tried it once and didn't care for it, preferred to do with all the nanny buttons off.
