Automatic Transmission Qs
Automatic Transmission Qs
Good morning
I have few Qs regarding the Automatic Trans.
i have noticed it shifts up and down really slow. even in S mode using paddles.
is there a software to make the shift timing faster?
in S mode not using paddles i cannot get car shift. at line 1 -2 is instant, but then 2-3 shift about 3500rpm then 3-4 is about 4500rpm. 4-5 i have not gotten to shift yet. the rpm keep going up but will not shift. when i back of throttle it just stays in 4th, so i use paddle to upshift to 5th.

I think in s mode it's really expecting you to do all the shifting. Furthermore when did you change your transmission fluid last? Fresh fluid is godly to these transmissions. It makes a huge difference in shift quality.
i had a Transmission flush, and software update done last month at Acura of Bellevue . so its new fluid . and they said the software was out of date. before the update at low RPM like 2k going 35 or 45 and i give it little gas the rpms would like move up/ down very little but would not down shift. now it just down shift as it should

Sometimes after a transmission software reset the computer takes a while to "learn" from your driving habits . Drive it around a couple of weeks more and it should feel better otherwise back to the stealership. I reset the transmission ECU by following the instructions on here when my FWD tech wasnt upshifting very smoothly. 2-3 weeeks later it was all good again
