Auto windows roll up module?
Anybody install the Auto windows roll up module? I had installed one in my 2006 and loved it. Press the lock button twice, within 1 second of each other and the module would roll up all the windows and close the sunroof. A simple unit, but worked well. For those who aren't familiar with it, it simply sends 12 volts to the same wire that gets energized when you do this trick with your key in the door lock. I forgot to get the module out of my totalled 2006.
I think if you hold the unlock, it rolls the windows down - but haven't found any other button pushes that do anything from the factory.
Now if they'd open source out the voice commands or release a software update with thinks like "Garage Door Up" and "Windows Down", "Windows Up", "Wipers automatic" - that would be big pimpin'.

I emailed them to see if anybody had bought and installed one in the 4G yet. Haven't heard back. I can't see why it would be any different.
I did a writeup on how to install it, years ago on the 3G. Should be pretty similiar.
As soon as I hear back, I am going to order a module.
I found the original thread I did years ago.

With the 04-09 - I'm assuming they mean the 3g and that they haven't modified the product line to reflect the new model changeover. You see this on Ebay all the time as well.
Yes, it will close the sunroof (no matter the position) and close all windows; same as your key will do in the door lock. I'm ordering the module right now and will do an install writeup with pictures as soon as I get it.

Where does it go ?
SUCCESS!!! SUCCESS!!!! I repeat SUCCESS! Wow, took me about 3 hours to figure it out. Of course, once I figured it out, I was like duh, that was easy. The directions kept throwing me, because I was looking for and found wires that had 5 volts when unlocked and 0 volts when locked, but they didn't do anything. There are two wires at the lock motor that have 12 volts and if you ground them, one locks the door and the other unlocks, same as turning the key. It's takes a little courage to ground wires with 12 volts in them and not expect to blow a fuse or burn something out.
So what the module does is watch for 12 volts to come across the door lock motor hot wire. When it see's 12 volts twice within 1.5 seconds of each other(from you pressing keyfob lock twice), it grounds a wire coming out of the KP box, which goes to the above mentioned lock wire and holds it for about 8 seconds, long enough to close the sunroof and windows. Same as you holding the key in the lock position in the door.
This will be easy for you guys to do since I will give you pictures and the exact wires to connect to. Pulling the door panel will be the hardest thing.
I don't have it finished yet, door panel is still laying on the ground and the wires are just pushed in where they need to connect. So tomorrow when I have more time, I will take more pictures and finalize the hookup, then do a writeup.

You only need one module! It's not controlling each window. It's only simulating what the car can already do. The car can already roll all the windows up and close the sunroof by holding the key in the door handle in the lock position. If you put your key in the door and turn to lock position, twice, the car will close everything. The module simulates this when it sees the door motor locking twice, like when you press the lock button twice on your remote. The module is mainly so you can close everything from your remote. Nice thing is you can get out and press the black lock button on the door handle twice too, and it will roll everything up.
