ATF Filter change

ATF Filter change
Hey so my car has been making a humming sound after cold starts which goes away shortly after and does not appear for the rest of the day. After browsing the forums I'm pretty sure its the ATF filter. I was hoping I could get some insight as to where this is in the 2009 TL SHAWD, as when browsing I got mixed results. Some people were saying that its inline under the battery and some were saying its located within the transmission and not serviceable. From what I understand from the 09-11 its in the transmission and 12+ is inline from what I found in this pdf http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/B14-049.PDF . If anyone has changed it before or can help me get a better understanding of this thatd be great. I also messaged a mechanic who said he could change it for $50 but if its within the transmission as I read before they were saying it was a 10+ hr job which doesn't make sense to me.
Also is it necessary to change? Besides the noise it makes during cold starts I have not noticed and other problems but is the sound indicating that I should change it?

Yeah it is internal on the 5speed auto. Its a cartridge technically so it's not that hard. Just make sure your torque specs are good since it's aluminum. Here is a link to do it at hone after you order one. Mine was under my batter tray on my 2012 6 speed. So I have not done the 5 speed filter but should only take 30 minutes.
