Wow- MSGross wins the award for dirtiest cabin filter by a landslide. Was that 7+ years of operation?

 

It's from a 2004 TL that had routine maintenance done by Acura and a local oil change shop... I'll find out if it was ever changed, might not have been. Plenty of mouse turds though, not too healthy.

 

Dang, that probably ties the one I changed out after I first got my TL a few years ago.

Mine was straight-up BLACK. There's a picture floating around AZ somewhere of it. Pretty disgusting.

Can't say I ever had mouse (or animal) poop though

Check the DIY section, spend $15 for a carbon filter at autozone... Well worth it, takes 15 min to change.

 

A cheap and easy thing to change. Definitely worth doing.

For timely filter changes I started using the subscribe and save method on amazon.. so every 3-6months I see a new filter

 

You can do that?! Amazon.

 

This reminds me of time I cleaned my air filter(not cabin) of my Camry and found about 100 acorns

One less thing to remember... And I have enough trouble remembering stuff.

 

It's a legit program...my roommates and I do that for a lot of our common household stuff (paper towels, soap, etc) so it saves us money and it's less errands to run. So we never run out of those kinds of things

I've never thought about it in terms of car parts, but that's not a bad idea...

I found a dead mouse in my air filter, I wonder what could be in my cabin filter, really dont want to find out now.

 

Cabin filter every six months? Seems a tad excessive to me. Unless you're parked outside under trees all the time.

 

The people who had disgusting cabin filters, did your car not smell horrible?....

 

I think the name of the game is how many miles do you drive in 6months.

For my applications I think 6months is fine for the number of miles I put on my cars. Plus I have serious allergies and yep, also a good reason to have a new filter every 6months. Excessive not found.

I'll make this an annual event. My PO had let the car sit a lot for the last year so I imagine the mouse climbed in through the engine bay over the winter. Disgusting is an understatement. The car was very clean, didn't really smell but is better now.

 

I change my filter every 30K
