Is The 4G TL A Masculine Or Feminine Car?
I see it as being an overwhelmingly masculine car. Certain cars just have a certain "presence" that seems to make them appeal to a more male or female demographic. Others are more androgenous.
In the masculine category I'd put the: CTS, A4 and IS.
In the female category I'd put the A6 and 3 series.
Androgenous cars would be the 5 series, E-Class, ES, M (almost female, but not quite) and G.
To me, the extreme angularity and "take no prisoners" appearance of the TL falls solidly in the masculine camp.
I don't know what that'll mean for sales.
In terms of age demographics, the TL is pretty clearly a young person's car as opposed to the 5 series, A6 and E-class which are all clearly aimed at an older demographic. And the ES??? Holy crap! Think 80+ year old ladies with blue hair from Miami Beach.

Three Wheelin'
This thread has been posted many times before. Anyways, I don't see how any car can be seen as masculine or feminine. The exception being pick-up trucks which are heavily advertisized and driven almost exclusively by men. The vast majority of Lexus IS and A4's I see on the road these days are driven by women. (Actually, most cars these days on the road are driven by women, period). As for the 4G, the bigger size over the 3G indicates Acura is targetting the car more towards older drivers and those with families.
