Smile 2012 Acura TL FWD + Tech Package deal

Hello All, one of the dealers quoted 32859 + D/H/Taxes and Fees for a new 2012 TL FWD + Tech package. Is it a good deal? Is it a "running" deal? Or should I shop for more?

That is a super awesome deal. Lowest I could get my dealer was 34,175.

That's a fantastic deal. Make sure it's for a NEW TL and not for a demo.

Don't forget that's + destination which I think is $895. I got quite a few quotes which included destination in the low $34K which is close to that price. There's a $2500 rebate and a $1000 incentive that Acura's floating around and that's what is driving dealer prices down (they're keeping that cash and passing the savings to you). Walked away with my TL + Tech for $34.5K + tax, title and license, but destination was included in the $34.5K price.

Yes, destination is $895, but that's still a great deal!

Oh yes I agree it's a great deal and to go for it. Just make sure it's the color you want and also that it's low mileage. Or else print out the quote and take it to another dealer that has your color and mileage (which is what I did) and ask them to match it. They may hem and haw but ultimately they should, and you'll get the car you want in the condition you want.

No, not scam.

Finally walked out of the dealership yesterday with a brand new 2012 TL FWD w/Tech Package, manufactured 06/12, for a price tag of $37,200 OTD. The price of the car without the taxes was $32,917.

I have a question though: I was denied 0.9% APR for 60 months just because I'm on an international student visa. I graduated in April '12 and am currently in a full-time job. I seem to satisfy all the "eligibility criteria" mentioned in http://www.acurafinancialservices.co...e-grad-program and http://www.acurafinancialservices.co...te_Program.pdf

Did anybody here experience a similar situation? Were you every denied to 0.9% APR just because you are on F1 visa or are not a US citizen?

(Moderators: Please tell me if this falls in a different thread)

Ravi, that program may apply to people who graduate from a college, but it is not a guarantee. You need a good and long credit history first and foremost.

Well, I understand that, but the first reason the finance manager came up with was that I'm on F1 and that I'm not eligible!

Wow, great deal on your 2012! Congrats. Acura financing promotions take alot of variables into deciding who is approved. Credit score, loan history, time at current residence, time at your job, how much $ down. What did you end up with for a interest rate?

Maybe they are worried you'll default on the loan and move back?

Just a guess.

Regardless, enjoy the car!

Well, the car is on the wife's name and we managed to grab a 1.9% for 60 months.

Yeah you got a great deal, congratulations! I got mine for about a little over a grand more but was able to score the 0.9 financing so in the end it will be about the same (unless you put a really high amount for down payment).

It was the special they were running last month, and I apparently had a really good FICO score (still not sure how that's calculated). Who knows, just glad I got it!

I bought my TL in april and acura would do 0.9% for up to 36 months. So I got the 1.9% for 60 months.
Wont matter because I plan to pay it off hopefully in 3 1/2 to 4 years.

Ravi,

Can you clarify the price you paid. How did it go up from 32700 to 37200. I am planning to get one in Dallas this weekend, so any tips will help. Sales tax is 6.25 here, so if it take your vehicle price and add sales tax I still get around 36000.

Thanks

Outch.

I got my 12 TL SH AWD (w Tech Package) 6000k miles for less then 37k on the road from carmax.
The car is like new.
Maybe you should keep looking a bit more.
