On my 07 TL-S I had to pull the fuse. The panel is probably in the same place, driver's side in front of the dead pedal. It left a DRL warning light on the dash, which just warns you that a light has burned out, but it really isn't annoying. YMMV on the 09.

There is no switch to turn them off. It is an automatic safety feature.

Try removing fuse #15. If it doesn't work, just pull out the fuse cover and read the labels. It should say "DRL"

Yes,m but you'll be in 'daytime' mode so the dash lights will be pretty bright. BTW, you still have drive ins?

On the 07/08s if the parking brake is pulled, and then the car is started they stay off. Once the brake is released they come on and won't go back off until the process is repeated. Pulling the brake while the car is running doesn't turn them off.

This winter, one of my projects is installing a harness and switch to turn them on and off. You should be able to bypass the DRL warning light with a resistor, but I haven't researched it yet.

I hate them too, if I want my lights on, I'll turn my lights on.

We have drive-in theatres here in Memphis, too. They are great when it is 110 degrees outside.

Yup, another feature from the 2G RL. Trickle down tech for everyone! In the RL when the parking brake is activated, the DRLs turn off and the MID shows a message.

Aren't the running lights just the high-beam bulbs except at low power?

Yes, DRL and high beam is just same bulb. DRL is operating at lower voltage to avoid blinding people.
If you don't like this feature, VW has come up with something worse. For VW/TIGUAN it has bi-xenon and DRL is low beam. So basically, you start your car and your low beam is on until you turn it off.
So what happen if you touch the headlight on/off button to turn it off? Well, it only turns off the dash interior light. Low beam is still on and the same brightness (remember it has HID).

So stupid when we drove through the Christmas light show and people honking at us requesting us to turn off low beam. We did but it still on. Brought it to dealer so they re-program to turn off DRL feature.

Tl;dr

Okay, so the guy was right who commented earlier. It's fuse #15 its a 7.5amp fuse (red). Pull it out from under near the steering wheel where the fuse box is. Once you pull it you're good to go. No lights have lighten up on my dash and my high beams as well as my other lights are all working.

I have an Acura TL 2010.
