'09 - '10 extended warranty?
Has anyone purchased the 100k or 120k extended warranty?
I"m leaning toward purchasing a new '09 or '10 TL. I drive lots of miles and purchased the 100,000 warranty on my '04.
What are you now paying for the 100k or 120k extended Acura warranty ?
Thanks
Pete

Out of curiosity have you had to use the extended warranty you bought back in '04?
I'm not a big fan of paying for something now that I might have to use after 4 years down the road. You never know what happens and if you really decide you want one when your OEM warranty expires I'm sure you could buy one for slightly more than what the dealership is offering you today...

I have a two week old AWD. When I bought it, the dealer offered AcuraCare for $2,059 for the 7 year/120,000 mile extended. I declined, not that I thought it was overpriced but I'm not a believer of extended warrantie. The $2k is cheap compared to a Beemer extended warranty. I didn't even want to ask my brother how much is an extended for his M3. He said the Acura is far far more reliable and that I shouldn't pick up the extended.

Acuras are very reliable, no question about that. The issue I see is with all the electronics that are in the car.

I got mine through my Credit Union for 1/2 the price, plus I get a prorated refund if I sell it before the warranty runs out.
I bought an extended warranty on my 03 MDX from an online Acura Dealer for about 40% less than the dealer that sold me the MDX would sell it to me for. It paid for itself when the wires in the steering wheel got messed up at 90K miles. The $1500 repair was covered 100%

I feel strongly both ways
I bought a 100k/7 year/$0 deductible warranty for $1100 from Curry Acura. It's the real AcuraCare warranty so everything is 100% legit.
And it's fully transferable to a new owner if I sell the car before 7 years is up.
I think that's a very fair price. Just be sure to do it before the car has 6000 miles on it or they won't sell it to you for that price.

I am thinking of a warranty on my 09 TL AWD w/ Navi as well. They are certainly cheaper online. Bernardi Warranty offers a Acura Care extended warranty a 7yr/100k w/ $0 ded for $995 plus you get $30 towards any parts or accessory purchase. That is the best price I have seen. I just have not pulled the trigger yet. They are prorated so if you trade it or decide to cancel you will get a good portion of it back during the entire term.

Holy crapola! I'm glad I didn't get it from Ramsey Acura. With those prices, now I'm interested. Bernardis seems like the best bet with a $30 off accessories. And, since I come up to Boston for my job, they are within easy driving distance.
Casey, thanks for the heads up! I'll probably spring for it. Let us know if you do it also.

OK, I broke down and got the 72 months/120k extended from Bernardi....get this...at the urging of my wife.
I driver over 25k a year so the regular warranty would have been gone like that!

Just thought and a question. So now that I got an extended warranty, does that mean I have to follow EVERY recommended service or else it puts the extended in question? I know a few of these services are just hot air. I never did them for my Maxima and just do the regular fluid maintenance myself and it got to 270,000 miles before I gave it away, still funtioning perfectly.
I must have saved hundreds if not over a thousand on the skipped services during ther 12 years of ownership.

But not everything has to be done at an Acura dealership right? For example, 5 years for now when the car is not so new any more, can't I take it to my mechanic to do the maintenance? He's just down the block and does good work and is cheaper and more honest than the dealer. I guess that's what I"m trying to ask. I'm not trying to forego maintenance.

That's great you got the warranty. They are going to be shutting down the site soon, after Nov. 1 they cannot sell warranties online at that price. Anyways I work at a dealership and we process warranty transactions. You do not have to do every single service that they recommend to you. As long as you do the regular maintenance and follow up/fix and problems on your car when it arises the warranty will cover it.

Thanks for the reaffirmation!
