Speed Limit camera

I have a 2022 Advance and the camera usually gets the speed limit signs correct, but once or twice a day it'll get it wrong, usually 65 in a 35 or like today, 70 in a 45. Has anybody else experienced this? The times I remember noticing it was a clear day with no rain. Not a huge issue but in this day and age if I can see the sign with my old eyes I'd expect the tech to do the same.

Is this the sort of thing that would be updated with an update?

Known issue.
Switch your "Speed Limit Information" to "Navigation" from "Traffic Sign Recognition".

OK, didn't know there was that option. You said it's a known issue but do we know if Acura is working on it? Even with Google, which is probably the gold standard for accurate nav database, it still misses signs, especially when there's been a recent change.

Unless Acura is using the same db that Google does I'd be suspect as their nav system in general is sub-par. I'd really like to use the camera if it could be improved, but I'll give the db a try, thanks.

I doubt it'll ever be perfect due to time of day, visibility, etc.
Manufacturers of self-driving vehicles have more sophisticated systems that employ multiple sensors to sort out speed limit signs, pedestrians, other cars, hazards, etc...
I'm guessing the MDX's is not but I welcome any future software updates.

I've driven other cars that have the same feature and it often gets it wrong, especially at night.

I've got 99 MPH more than once on my TLX. I accept the number only if it's reasonable.

I use WAZE on CarPlay and it already has the speed limit.
