camera setting question

I compared a Kodak and a Sony P&S side by side. Both are 5 MP.

for the same picture, the

Kodak sets:
1/64sec
ISO 80
F2.8
230dpi
no flash fire

Sony sets:
1/30 sec
ISO 100
F2.8
72dpi
no flash fire

As you can see, the picture from the Kodak is sharp with 1/64 sec.

I don't understand why one camera pick faster shuttle speed but the other doesn't.

And why one with high dpi but the other with low dpi?

any idea Dan?

First off, resolution has nothing to do with exposure. The reason the shutter speeds are different is due to the ISO settings, though I would expect the shutter speed to be higher on the camera with the highter ISO setting.

All conditions must be controlled within the scene. If you move the camera a little bit, or the light changes, settings will change.

Also keep in mind ISO 100s aren't the same camera to camera,
and also cameras just have different exposure algorithms in general anyway

It's not really a useful/meaningful comparison, imho
