Has anybody heard of a new High Speed P&S that shoots HD quality at 10,000 fps?
I heard about it on the radio, but the guy didn't remember the name. He said possibly pentax. I searched some on google and came up short. He said it was a still camera. I am having a hard time grasping how and why this would be done with a still camera. Any thoughts?

The closest thing I can think of would be the Casio EXIFILM PRO EX-F1. It can do full HD (1920 x 1080) at 60 fps, or do up to 1,200 fps at 336 x 96.

I'm sure he's thinking of the EX-F1.
High speed lower resolution movies would be a ton of fun.
Nintendo SIXTY FFFFFFFOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
(no sound in super high speed modes tho)
And Casio cameras still retain the BEST movie features of any point and shoots on the market, including the buffer that continually records, so that it the movie starts slightly before you actually hit the shutter button.
I would kill for a canon camera that had the movie abilities of the Casio cameras.

What is the Nintendo 64 comment referring to? I never had one... Was that what happened at startup? It would be in super slo-mo?
Interesting you say that Casio has the best video. My last camera was an EX-Z4 and it could not do video at all.

Re: Movie mode, Casio really took off starting with the EX-Z750. I still miss mine.
