Slight misalignment of the hood
Hi. New member here but not new to Acura.
I bought a ‘22 ASpec 2 weeks ago and just noticed that the hood is misaligned slightly such that the center line on the hood is not in line with the centerline of the hood extension (the little piece that is separated from the “main hood” of the vehicle). So does anybody else have a problem with the hood being misaligned? And if you have, what did you do to remedy it aside from taking it back to the dealer? (Mine is 4 hours away). Thanks

take photos and post it here and maybe i can help.
if you want to tackle this task, you're going to have to re-adjust things...so, whatever you called the "extension" whatever that is, you may have to adjust it.

if the "extension" lines up with the front bumper, then the misalignment is with the hood. and you will have to either adjust the bolts to the hood or add spacers to the hood to get it to line up with the body.
I think the front of the hood needs to be moved just slightly to the right (when looking at the vehicle) but I don’t know if there’s a way that I can DIY it. Regarding the dealership, I’d take it back there if it wasn’t a 4-hour drive to the dealership.

i would also use painters tape to tape up all the edges, any slight "oops" will result in chipped paint.
if you have any old blankets, i would drape them over the fenders and grille and headlights

I don't understand why so many on this Acura forum are so tolerant of poor body gap alignment on many Acura cars and SUVs. Acura called itself a luxury brand but its panel fit is worse than many domestic non-luxury brands. My current 22 MDX also suffered from poor body panel alignment. This is not excusable. No amount of reliable hardware in this car can make up for the poor workmanship. My previous bad experience is with a 2018Honda CRV make in Mexico.
Agreed. I find it funny reading this forum the responses of some. I’ve seen people send back a $10 hamburger if not prepared to their liking. But here we are reading about people trying to figure out, some on their own it appears, how to realign some out of sync body parts on a 60K car. Really? If you aren’t happy with your purchase, take it back. I sure as hell would. Wouldn’t attempt to anything on my own. You mess it up, it is on you. They mess it up, it is on them. And it is on them from the start anyway!
