Prices paid for 2026 Acura MDX Type S

I am starting to look at a 2026 Acura MDX Type S and wanted to see what people may be paying before TTL . I will not pay add-ons so hoping people can share their price. I have been able to quickly get a price of the MDX $73375 without a lot of effort but my local dealer here in Houston area are delusional. All the dealer's have add-ons so I am going to be forced to shop out of my area to find a clean deal. Acura has not added much in terms of incentives so I cant get much help there either. My hope was to be able.to cut the MDX Type S to around $71k before TTL. The only other option may be wait it out until things fall apart on the MDX. They are now starting to restock inventory and will sit as most people cant justify spending $78K on any Honda/Acura product. I am trying to avoid to look at BMW as the alternative. $78k is definately X5 money with far better gas milage.

Just curious and to clarify, it is your expectation that the dealer (without a fight; regardless of 'add-ons') come down almost $6-7K, in January 2026, on a new model year Type-S MDX?

Yes that is my desire. If they are not able to do such, I will shop other brands like the BMW X5 as well.

Have you thought about the fact that a 2026 Acura with 1100 miles will list for $68k, which means it can sell for less. This is why it should be selling for around $70K

So, you have visually evidenced the 'fact' of this alleged 'list' incident (above), at a recent 2026 MDX Type-S negotiation to reinforce your $71k argument, and all the dealer buckled down in price was to $73375?

Did have an offer for $73150 come in. I also am seeing dealers are starting to receive a lot more in transit Type-S. It may be a couple weeks before they receive more around the country. With the weather storm, I expect a few delays as well.

Yes I saw that as well around end of year. I have to wait a bot for Acura to add more incentives. I know that $71K is doable but dealers are trying to hold tight. I will hold tight on money until they are willing to sell at a price as well.

more incentives? at a price thats right around or below invoice? Considering it’s the last year of this body style. I think dealers will hold tight for a while and maybe until they are all gone.

a lot of people have pocket pride and a budget I get it but a type s is not for those people. A basic plain Jane trim will do or aspec.

I would just suggest getting a used one that someone took the depreciation hit and that’ll make you happy.

I didn’t bat an eye, you live once just buy the daarn thing and enjoy it. Plain and simple

I just bought a '26 TypeS this week. I typically just worry about out the door price when car shopping and have that number figured before I go to the dealer. I don't care how they write it up. We went in to make a deal on it and a new leftover '25 TLX. While we got 4000 off on the sticker price of the TLX, they were pretty firm on the MDX sticker price. I focused on trade-in value (a '22 BMW X6 M50i and an '18 TLX) After the usual back and forth dance we got close enough to where we wanted to be with most of our savings coming on the value of our trades.

Buying in January or February when there is very little traffic in the showroom and demonstrating the ability to walk out will usually net your best deal. (we mentioned in front of the salesman that the Lexus GX & ES choices were looking better and better) There is also motivation for the sales manager near the end of the month to get more units out as they usually have a quota. - If you wait and until spring, they'll be selling more cars and be less likely to deal. You just have to be realistic.

I agree completely with TypeS22, pull the trigger.

I am seeing Honda just got hit with a class action that includes the MDX on the V6. Interesting to see that at thos time. I may have to wait and read u0 on others issues as I have had the RDX most recently for the daily.

Its normal, at least you’re not a test dummy for a new body style in the first 2 years with many initial problems like the transfer cases on 22-24’s.

I love the 25-26 front end refresh and I was going to buy a 24 but glad I waited on a 25. The touch screen is nice compared to the track pad that was on the 22 tlx type s I had.

Sure there will be more issues on the type s vs other trims as there is the suspension, turbo and other things but that is what extended warranty is for if you plan on keeping the car. Even if you get rid of it at any point, they refund and prorate the difference in the warranty from AcuraCare. Easily done.

The new upcoming Mdx hybrid im sure will have alot of problems and they’ll be lawsuits left and right. Who cares. Buy once cry once and enjoy!

I was able to get a dealer down to $72785 today. Slowly moving towards my goal. While I recognize some are saying just buy, I d9nt purchase vehicles l8ke that. I have much m9re expensive vehicles and would never approach a purchase without a budget or plan. I also received an email from Acura that leads me to beleive there will be a larger incentive for the MDX coming tomorrow. It was directly from Acura so waiting is worthwhile. I also dont need this new MDX but it would replace my 2022 RDX Aspec Advance. Personally I see my 5 dealers getting in many more of MDX Type-S and they are not selling too fast. I can wait on the right deal or leave it sitting on the lots.

Lowest offer today $72750 OTD. They are stocking the MDX'S but they are not selling. Not sure how dealers can hold on but I can wait until they come down also.

While talking to a dealer they asked if they knew anyone looking for an Acura and I said my brother is interested in a new RDX Aspec Advance. He got a 2026 RDX OTD for $52,500 and no adds. It had the all weather mats, wheel locks and tint included in his deal It had a Cargo Tray and cargo protector but they took those out as said he would have to buy them. He said passed on those for now. Tax rate for him is 6.25% which is $3,057. Good deal for 7 year old model car about to be discontinued and has buttons. Touch screens are overated and will date the cars faster IMHO.

If anyone see that OTD for me, drop a post here.

Why because I am waiting on a $71K OTD pricefor an MDX Type S? There are a lot of idle cars sitting and only a matter of time before Acura and dealers have to move them.

Your quote brings OTD to at least $75400 with TTL for me. I have quote in the $72K OTD currently. I am firm at $71K OTD and my zip code is 77002 for reference with the 6.25% tax rate. If you can hit that let me know.

In your first post the 'hope' was to initially get $71k before TTL and now you state that you have a $72K OTD?
Have your 'goal posts' been reassessed since based on the dealer interactions / observed market conditions?

I thought you were yanking my chain so I did the same for you. If serious, send me a PM and we will see where the price falls.

WTF are you talking about?
Moreover, I asked you a simple question & don't need to send you a PM for any explanations, slick.
Answer here in public if you have the balls.

I don't owe you any effort toward an OTD quote with ZFG.

However, I must say this little bit of banter in return, whether you like it or not as I watch you chronicle your journey here and give us an insight into your arrogant personality, lol.

Initially unbeknownst to them, the only people's chain getting yanked are the unfortunate souls sitting across the table from your unreasonable price fixation. Only having to endure the displeasure of your presence at a good faith arms length negotiation. Then rolling their eyes & smirking as they watch the door hit your dejected rear end, as a result.

72OTD doesn't exist for a brand spanking new mdx type s. I wouldn't waste my breath with someone like him/her that lives in Lulu land
