Since Acura is keeping the 3.5 V6 with I assume the same tune as the RLX Hybrid, the chances of a Hybrid version is a lot better than I expected.
but you cannot tow anything more than a limp noodle😝😎👍

Not me, plan to tow a 2k tent trailer plus gear. NO hybrid for me. Seems like such a waste of an suv (hybrid) because you are limited on what you can do. Can’t tow anything, what’s the use? Do they also limit the amount of weight you can carry in the hybrid?😝

The Hybrid and 3.5L MDX have the same roof and interior cargo specs (capt. chair MDXs have a lower interior max weight of about 170lbs). I still added a hitch+harness to my MDX hybrid for 4 bike platform rack or my StowAway2 swing out carrier. I still have my roof Yakima Rocketbox I used on my 08 RDX and 11 MDX also for longer items like skis, lawn chairs, or beach sports umbrellas. I wanted the hybrid because I put 20,000 miles per year traveling. It really hurts spending $85 each time to gas up my 11 MDX when in CA when I was getting 14 mpg because of traffic.

Acura just needs to offer a regular AT instead of the DCT with the hybrid system to add towing back into the mix.

For those who have driven the current regular and hybrid MDX, does the hybrid handle a lot better than the regular?

The electronic dampers along with tq vectoring and regen braking with or without engine power makes the hybrid very stable and enjoyable sporty ride at any speed.

For starters, spending 50-60k, I would want it protected in a garage, vandalism, out in the weather, someone side swiping it, so and so forth, shall I go on? Common sense dictates you keep in a garage, but common sense is sometimes not common at all✌️

Common sense dictates you keep your more expensive car in the garage, but there's nothing inherently bad about parking it outside. I guess it depends on where you live...if you live the the ghetto sure probably not a great idea, but in the suburbs on a driveway? Vandalism and getting side swiped seems fairly unlikely.

rodents eating a wiring harness? Tree sap, pine needles, bird shit, want me to keep going on? If you have a garage and are not using for your expensive new car, you are just plain stupid and a douche bag IMO🤦‍♂️

oh yeah and in these shitty times, many many losers are out prowling cars EVERYWHERE, and I certainly do not live in the ghetto, far from it.

So if you don’t have a garage (or a garage big enough) you’re plain stupid or a douchebag for buying this car? Got it.

That is not what I said, go back and reread it. Your just trying to twist my words around, your probably a Biden supporter🤮. If you have a garage that fits your car, why why wouldn’t you use it? If you don’t have a garage, maybe you should build one or buy a car that is within your means? Prius hybrid perhaps? That I would park on the street, but wouldn’t need to worry about that because I would never own one.

The person who asked the question said their garage may not be big enough and they’d have to park it outside which would be unacceptable. Nobody said anything about parking it outside for no reason. Don’t blame me for you not reading the whole thread.

Nice to know I know political affiliations in this thread.

I think this version will be a massive hit for Acura, and perhaps for me in 10 years.

Hard to believe, but Acura screwed the pooch on the HUD, leaving it off the Type-S.

It was left off the TLS Type S. Hopefully they don't make the same mistake on the MDX.

Yes, they did leave it off. Along with the 360 surround camera and a couple of other items that are on higher end Accords and the TLX 4 cyl Advance.
Not options, simply not available at all!

What they included was enough weight to make it barely quicker than my 14 year old '07 Type S 6MT.

I've waited a long time for a new Type-S. After all the past year of hype I am sorely disappointed.

I was referring to what’s on the MDX Type S, not the TLX.
