MT has finally admitted the new MDX is a 7 second car.

Their earlier article claiming the 4th gen was faster than the 3rd gen (despite being heavier with the same engine) was pure lunacy. It also would have made for some interesting comparisons against the MDX Type S.

Be careful using sales figures as a basis for what car is better; otherwise you'll have to conclude that the Camry is superior to the Accord, and the Explorer is superior to a Pilot .

It would be interesting if Infiniti added a QX60 Red Sport variant. The redesign was much needed, now if they would add a sport version it would be interesting.

Well I think there are a lot of taxi and fleet sales of the Camry. I am thinking that's why more Camry's are sold.

Infiniti would have had to put in a ton of work to make the QX60 better than the MDX. The last QX was complete trash and this one is not even as new of a platform compared to what Acura did with MDX. I would have to wait to see more reviews, I see about 10 new MDX a day and have not seen 1 new QX60, so this shouldn't change the sales story as others have mentioned. I would like to see C&D or R&T do a similar review between these two.

I never said anything about the QX60 outselling the MDX. What I'm saying is that using sales figures as a proxy for which car is better (i.e. claiming X is better than Y because X outsells Y) isn't always the best method. Case in point, the Camry outsells the Accord, and the Explorer outsells the Pilot 2:1, but I don't think most folks here would agree that the Camry and Explorer are superior to the Accord and Pilot.

Understood, didn't say you did but you replied to someone who pointed this out. My view is the QX60 must be a huge improvement to take a win from MDX.

The person I replied to has a history of conflating sales figures with which car is better. For instance, claims such as 1G TLX sales figures are higher than A4 sales figures, so the TLX is clearly superior .

The acceleration figures listed in this comparison are interesting to say the least, and somewhat confounding. The Acura seems to have the advantage off the line, loses it, and gains it back at the end of the 1/4.

Can this be explained by the gearing? Ceteris paribus, the Acura should have had the advantage.

MDX is a winner...we all know that

I own one and it's one of the best if not the best! That's why sales numbers speak clear and loud! And on that note, RX is better than MDX, that's why it outsells most of the SUVs, but the issue with RX is space. I do not compare RX-L to MDX. I borrowed from the dealer for 24 hours before purchasing my MDX and that car = RDX and not MDX.

I read the article posted QX60 vs. MDX. It is unfair to compare sales figures simply because Infiniti has been very late to bring the 2022 to market and now they we have the Let's Go Brandon problems form CA. I have the MDX since August. I really can't really say anything other than it may be the best car I ever owned. And I've had a lot of cars. I'm 70 YO, retired, and no real need for a 3 row SUV but just truly enjoy this perfect Mid sized SUV. It's more Muscular looking, handles great, just a terrific RIDE. I had the 2016 QX60 (What Was I Thinking in June 2016 when I traded in my Leased 2013 Infiniti M37X for This). I considered the 2016 MDX at ta hat time, but the Infiniti was better $$$$ deal and I just became a Grandfather. The extra space and comfort was evident, it had a wonderful Bose sound system, and I even accepted the CVT with AWD - Top of the Line model. I never used the space, never had the Grandchild in the car. But after trading in that for a 2019 MDX - I saw the Light in handling especially with SH-AWD. And now leasing the 2022 MDX Advance which incorporated excellent re-design features too numerous to mention here again. You guys all know what I mean!!.
My other point that folks fail to focus on is that the Magazines, YT video reviewers, etc. are all Influenced by the Car Makers. They Pay Big Bucks for that. Some reviewers are Truly fairer and honest than others - you have to sort that out. FYI, watch Sarah -N -Tune YT channel. She really knows what she is talking about. Watch her and you will see what I mean. She is very easy to watch - as you will see. It's akin to watching Cher and Sandra Bullock review cars but not review the typical stuff. She has a segment called Garage Science, and gets under the cars and explains everything about it. She rebuilds cars too, from the frame on up.
