True story — out for groceries and someone just asked me, “Sir, how do you like your Telluride?”

Yikes. Not even close. Although the MDX would love to get the accolades the Telluride has gotten! In due time . . . . . .

Being mistaken for another successful car is never a bad thing!

Did you correct them or just go with the flow.

I once had a someone mistaken my 06 TSX Aspec for a Camry. That kinda stung a little bit.

When I first got my '02 Camry, people thought it was a Mercedes. To be honest, the luxury cars back then weren't as far apart as they are now from non-luxury.

lol

I just told him something like, "Actually, it's an Acura — the new MDX that just came out..." He just laughed and said, "Oh, that's right. I can see it says 'Acura' now."

Yeah -- the two cars don't really have similar silhouettes, with the Telluride looking more boxy.

True! Lots of Telluride love out there. The Koreans are really smashing it right now.

Yeah I don't see these two vehicles looking much alike. CX-9 and MDX? Absolutely. Maybe even an Infiniti? Okay. But a Telluride? I'm actually surprised that someone said "Telluride" as in Kia has already established brand / product identity with that name. That's probably the biggest win here for Kia.
