What are you kids doing for bike racks? Generic SUV tail gate rack?

Looking for recommendations and feedback from folks who actually have tried rack on the new '22!

Depends how many bikes you need to haul and type. Carbon fiber bike frames generally should not be mounted on a hanging hitch rack and a platform rack that secures the bike at the wheel is preferred (Thule T2, Kuat, 1upUSA, Yakima has one). Use a hitch rack and not one that straps to the tail gate. Respect your car and respect your bike.

Finding a rack is a little more tricky because of the pandemic supply chain issues throughout multiple industries. The cycling industry has been hit particularly hard.

 

Haven't felt the need for a trailer hitch in the SUVs I've ever owned...until we rented e-bikes during our vacation earlier this month and had a total blast.

So, my 2022 Advance does not have a trailer hitch (for a platform bike rack, etc.); has anyone ever had one (OEM) retrofitted? What was the damage ($$)? Acura.com says $865 MSRP for the Trailer Hitch with Accessory Hands-Free Access. It also says, "Requires Trailer Hitch Trim Cover, HFA Sensor Attachment, with Trailer Hitch, HFA Sensor, with Trailer Hitch."

Not looking to do it DIY, either.
