Battery Leaking

Hi, I've found that my 2022 MDX (Canadian edition) has a battery leaking issue. If we don't drive it for 2-3 weeks, the battery would be going low. The battery was totally out of power after it was not driven for 1-2 months. Does anyone experience the same issue?

Thanks.

I think that is pretty common that a battery will be low/very low after sitting for 1-2 straight months.

A lot of electronics on the MDX and many of us had the same issue during the +2 year long lockdown. It is probably normal battery drain issues if you let the vehicle sit too long and you don't drive it enough for the alternator to recharge when you do drive. Another issue is having your key fob too close to the MDX and that can also drain the fob and vehicle battery. You will need to drive the MDX more often and longer OR get a battery tender if you are unable to drive it more. This is what I had to do with my 18 RLX hybrid and 19 MDX hybrid. My 11 MDX didn't have this issue when it sat for extend amounts of time.

I didn't drive my Honda Accord LX for at least 5 months but it didn't have the battery issue about 10 years ago.

Thank you both! Yes. I do need to drive it more. I may also need to unplug the dash cam when I get home. I don't know if the dash cam uses any power when the car is not on.
For security reason, we need to put the two key fobs far away from the car. That's what I usually do. Hackers can startup the car if the key fob is too close to it.

Get a trickle charger. Make sure to leave the hood up as a reminder to disconnect the trickle charger before you drive off.

Good point. I will think about it. Thank you! Now I drive it almost every day, so the battery performs well.

Mind you that you have to drive on the highways to really charge up the battery. Running daily errands in the neighborhood will not cut it.
