It's not a horrible deal but they will probably sell your 2019 model for a bit more than the current buyout value (I'm sure they told you there was no equity on the trade-in).

The biggest advantage for them is that you are willing to wait until Aug/Sep. Many customers are moving on.

They actually gave me several thousand in equity on my 2019. The only "markup" on the 2022 is the Protection Package (all weather mats, cargo tray, and splash guards). The new MDX won't be but $40 more month than what I pay currently. I am pretty happy about the deal-I am sure I could get more of a discount next year, but I didn't want to chance my trade-in value dropping.

Bought 2022 MDX Advance in mid-may 2021 through a dealer part of the Costco auto buyer's program. Got $1750 off MSRP, and another $1000 off from Acura USA as prior Acura owner. Got quotes from two other dealers not part of Costco program - one was MSRP; another was $1500 off MSRP. Both would have also had the additional $1000 prior owner discount. With Costco dealer purchase also get 50% off parts, accessories, service for first six months up to $200. All dealers knew I was paying cash. Ended up financing half of purchase at 1.9% for 5 years with no prepayment penalty standard.

sorry if that has been answered before but how do you get the Costco discount? When I go to the Costco website, I only see an entry for RDX (in my area). Is the MDX Costco discount area specific?

I have a 2018 Acura tlx so guessing I would qualify for Acura loyalty.

Go to the Costco Auto Buying Program web site: https://www.costcoauto.com/
Enter your zip code and follow the instructions. I recall it will tell you the closest dealer to you that is part of the program.
After filling out the info on the web site, you will get an email from the dealer and you can go in or ask for a quote per the Costco program.
And yes, you also get the Acura Loyalty discount.

Thanks for the info. I tried that over the weekend and it appears there are no dealers participating in my area for the MDX (St Louis). I tried broadening my search to include Chicago, it allowed me to select MDX but then I got a message saying dealers in that area did not meet Costco's special pricing.

I will keep looking... thanks again.

bought an MDX A-spec on 06/11 - MSRP $58,625. After discount and conquest rebate the price came out to $54,544. I am based in Delaware but got the vehicle from a Maryland dealer.

So after a lot of searching, I was able to get a fairly decent saving, locally. This is for a MDX SH-AWD TECH.

The local dealer initially had a $1,600 markup over MRP but price matched a written quote from a Chicago based dealer who was selling at MRP... they not only price matched but gave me an additional $1K in my trade-in.

MSRP= $55,125 (includes destination and $500 for the color premium)
Color= Liquid Carbon / Espresso
Loyalty/Conquest Discount = $1,000-
Additional "kickback" on trade-in vehicle= $1,000-
Doc Fees = $199
Final price before Sales Tax= $53,324
Included Accessories
:All-Season Floor Mats, Wheel Locks and Cargo Tray...This place also has free lifetime car washes.
ETA: July 16th.

Now the wait begins

Hey Yepsee! If you don’t mind me asking which dealership did you get your MDX? I’m looking to purchase one myself in the next month and I live in Baltimore County. Thanks in advance!
