Yet another A-Spec suspension thread

With the weather finally being consistently nice here in the NE, I got my A-Spec suspension installed when I brought in the TL for the 7500 mile service. It is a totally different car now. I can describe it in one word....awesome. I'll be ordering some 18's now as well.

On a side, I was loaned an 05 TL while my car was being done. When I hopped on the highway with it, I thought the car must have been in a wreck or something. The steering wheel was vibrating and the car would track to the left. I was thinking of bringing it back for safety reasons. But later on...about 10 minutes later, surprisingly it all went away. I tried to figure out what heck it was, then it hit me. The Turanzas!! My goodness, they really are pieces of shyte. I feel for everyone that has them. Why you don't swap them out immediately is beyond me.

THe A-spec 18" rims alone (w/o the suspension) will make a noticeable difference...but the suspension by far and away makes the most dramatic -- greatest improvement. Congrats on your new suspension ..

Glad you like your suspension. I have installed only the front half and love the decreased roll and brake dive already. I can't wait to do the rears.

BTW, did you check to see if there are any noises after the install while going over bumps? I am getting a "clacking" noise on my driver's side but it may be anything.

No noise at all from the suspension. Got it all done at Hillside Acura when I did the 7500 mile scheduled maintenance.

Thanks for the info. I will retorque all the bolts and nuts when I have time again. I think I have isolated the problem and it is minor. Have fun.

Another thing I have noticed since the A-Spec install is this: it doesn't have that over-assisted steering feel that I had prior to this setup. Turn-ins are so much fun now....I really can take the on-ramps and sweepers now exactly the way I like....flat and fast. Acura really should have made this a stand alone option when ordering.

You nailed it. I still have to wait for better weather before installing the rear suspension and retorqueing the front bolts. You really notice the increased steer effort esp. when you try to parallel park your car. You need to put strength into turning the wheel. It feels like they took out about 20% of the boost which feels nice in city driving. It's a little harder to tell at highway speeds. Honestly, I could still use a little less boost but I can't complain anymore.

Talking Thank you all

My wife and I just purchased our 05 SSM/Navi two weeks ago. The dealer is finally installing the A-Spec suspension tomorrow (it was negotiated as part of the sale). We are also ordering the CT RSB. Hope to get that installed as soon as it comes in.

Our decisions were based on all your recomendations.

Thanks

Ditto All A-SPEC Suspension Reviews!

I had the A-SPEC suspension installed today and all I can say is, "Oh my God!!!" How is it that this is not standard on the 6MT?!

Where do I begin...turn-in is great, steering feels more weighted, squat/dive all but eliminated, floaty feeling all but eliminated, understeer? what understeer?, acceleration from a standstill and while moving are noticeably quicker. The ride, if I had to put a number on it, is about 90% as comfortable as stock. I actually prefer the better communication with the road the A-SPEC provides. As far as tires go, this suspension will truly expose the inadequacy of the Crapstone EL-42's where the stock suspension was able to shoulder some of the blame.

This is the best $600 you'll ever spend on the 3G TL! Thanks to all for all the informative reviews and posts!

Congrats and welcome to the quickly growing club of A-spec-ers. Time to invest in the last weak link in your car's handling: Your tires.

Yeah. I can't wait till we run out of tread. Can't justify buying rims/tires at this point. Actually, I can probably justify it, I just can't afford it.

funk,

that's sorta my situation, but i might pull the trigger on some flix lex 18x8 (i've been told they clear the brembo's). the tire/wheel combo at edgeracing is $1089 w/ Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S. i know that's cheap, but i haven't seen any negative reviews or posts after searching a bit. they're regularly $188/ea. which is cheap, but on sale for $135/ea. right now.
