i have winter tires 215-55r17 mounted on 17 rims , will these tires be an ok fit on my. Acura 2005 tl ,or will they rub in any way if i hit a pot hole ,,,,, thanks .

 

Tires shouldn't be a problem as they are only .5" larger in diameter, but the question,
is the wheel offset similar to the OEM?

 

Being so narrow it is highly unlikely the tires will rub. That said, Turbonut's point about the offset (and back spacing if you have a 6MT) is critical for wheel fitment.

 

Shouldn't be any issues with that size tire. But yeah the offset is important on the 6MT. The larger calipers require a bit more clearance.

 

A quick clarification; there are many-many wheels with the correct offset for the 6MT and Type-S models but will not clear the Brembo brake calipers; that's where back spacing comes into play. Case in point, I went to TireRack a month or so ago and queried up 17" wheels which will fit automatic TLs, the total wheel count was 129, I then did the same query for the 6MT models and came up with 12 wheels, all with the same offset range as the automatic wheels.
