Winter tires - Yokohama AVS Winter

Just curious if anyone has tried the Yokohama AVS Winter tires. Looking for something reasonably well handling in white stuff for my '99 TL-P, probably going for 215/55s or 225/50s. My car came with Potenza RE-92s, and one review I read on that tire on a TL said he wouldn't drive it in snow. Not encouraging.

Recommendations, anyone? Really can't afford the 4 wheel&tire idea.
