Is wheel downsizing a problem?

I've currently got acura's factory 18's on my '06 3G but i'm trying to get an independent winter setup so I can just switch them as the seasons dictate. I've noticed on here and craigslist, etc. that 16" and 17" wheels with snows are much more common and, clearly, less expensive. Is there any issue with using a smaller wheel if the car currently has 18's?

Thanks!

no problem at all. 17's would be just fine with winter tires. I and many others do this or have done this in the past.

There should be no problem as long as the tire size is correct. People put on 16's and 17's with winter tires.
