What's the best 18" tire for wet+dry traction, longevity, and ride?
Just bought a used set of Ronjon 18" Inspyre wheels and need to get tires for them. Been browsing this area and have read some different opinions. First, i'd like to use a 245/40/18 if that size doesn't have any issues. Also, a lot of people like the Pirelli Pzero Nero, Falken? and others, but what is your opinion? Anyone used Cooper Zeon's?

not vtech... VTEC!!!
rank those 3 qualities in your perferred order.
usually traction and logevity are mutually exclusive as softer the tire compond increases traction but increases tire wear in the process.
Harder tire compound will last longer, but it will not grip as well as softer compound tires.

True, i do realize that a softer compound will hold the road better, but i guess i'm looking for a happy medium. Wet traction is important along with handling, but i don't want to replace my tires in 15,000 to 20,000 miles.

From what I have read, the General Exclaim UHPs are really good.

Haven't had them long enough to comment on wear but I am really enjoying my Exclaims. I was very concerned about wet handling when I went to buy 18" tires. These definitely handle better than the stock 17" Michelins originally on the car. Quiet too. Side walls are not too stiff; I'd say just right for "spirited driving."

So far i've heard/read good things about the Pilot's, and also the Continental ContiExtremeContact's. Locally, a tire distributor is pushing the Cooper Zeon Sport A/S. That has a 400 treadwear along with a AA Traction and A temperature rating.
The more people you talk to, the more confusing it gets!

Falkens get very noisy and only lasted 10k
Michelin Pilot Sports much quieter until you get near the wear bars and then they get loud. I'll probably get 12k before they are bald.
You might want to check out Avon's at Tirerack
